मान्छेले धन सम्पत्ति सजिलै कमाउन सक्छ, तर समयलाई रोक्न सक्दैन,
पसिनाले लेखेको भाग्य चम्किन सक्छ, तर उमेर किनेर बाँच्न सक्दैन।
पद र प्रतिष्ठा चढ्न सक्छ आकाशजति, नाम दुनियाँभरि गुञ्जिन सक्छ,
तर इमानदारीको बाटो समात्न खोज्दा, किन आफ्नै मन डगमगाउन छ।

आज मान्छे होडबाजीमन छ, प्रतिस्पर्धाको आँधीभित्र हराउँदै गएको छ,
अरूलाई जित्ने लोभमा ऊ आफ्नै आत्माबाट टाढिँदै गएको छ।
भीडले दिएको परिचयलाई नै उसले आफ्नो सत्य ठानेको छ,
तर ऐनामा हेर्दा ऊ आफैंलाई चिन्न नसकेर मौन रोएको छ।

देखावटी जीवनको रङले ऊ बाहिरबाट चम्किरहेको देखिन्छ,
भित्रभित्रै उसको सत्य भने एक्लै अँध्यारोमा रोइरहेको देखिन्छ।
अरूको नजरमा राम्रो बन्न उसले हजार रूप बदल्न सिकेको छ,
तर आफ्नै वास्तविकता स्वीकार्न ऊ अझै किन डराएको छ।

आफ्नो क्षमता आफैंभित्रै लुकेको दीपजस्तो बल्न खोजिरहेको छ,
तर ऊ अरूकै उज्यालो पछ्याउँदै आफ्नो बाटो भुलिरहेको छ।
आफ्नै आत्माको आवाज उसलाई दिनरात बोलाइरहेको छ,
तर भीडको हल्लाले त्यो आवाजलाई दबाइरहेको छ।

के लिएर आएको थियो ऊ यो धर्तीमा,सिर्फ एउटा सास, एउटा मन,

त्यो अन्तिम क्षणमा न धन साथ दिन्छ, न पद, न त कुनै मान।
त्यो बेला केवल कर्मले बोल्नेछ, आत्माले मात्र हिसाब गर्नेछ,
तिमी कस्तो भएर बाँच्यौ भन्ने प्रश्नले तिमीलाई घेर्नेछ।

त्यसैले आजै सोच, भीडभन्दा बाहिर निस्केर आफूलाई चिन,

Chief Minister Lays Foundation Stone of Ugen Wodsel Pema Choeling Monastery at Upper Martam

Gyalshing, March 11 (IPR): The Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, laid the foundation stone of the revered Ugen Wodsel Pema Choeling Monastery at Upper Martam, Gyalshing District, today.

Upon arrival, under the spiritual guidance of His Eminence Kyabje Dungzin Garab Rinpoche, the Chief Minister unveiled the commemorative plaque and laid the foundation stone of the monastery. The ceremony was held in the gracious presence of the Area MLA-cum-Advisor for the PHE and Water Resources Departments, Mr Lok Nath Sharma, alongside revered monks and local dignitaries.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Mr MN Sherpa,Minister for Buildings & Housing,Labour Departments Mr Bhim Hang Limboo,MLA for Maneybung Dentam-Cum-Advisor Mr Sudesh Kumar S***a, as well as Chairmen,Advisors,OSDs, Secretaries, District Collector (Gyalshing), Superintendent of Police (Gyalshing), SDM (Dentam), BDOs,Heads of Offices(Gyalshing District),esteemed guests and local public.

In his address, the Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to His Eminence Kyabje Dungzin Garab Rinpoche of Bhutan, expressing deep gratitude for his presence at this significant occasion for the Sherpa community.

Speaking on public-centric initiatives such as the Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to ensuring that all eligible recipients of allotment orders are facilitated with their benefits by the year 2027.
Highlighting the 'Connect to CM' initiative, the Chief Minister advised the public to take full advantage of the virtual platform, which convenes every two months to provide direct government intervention for their aspirations.

The Chief Minister further encouraged stakeholders and the public to maintain the sanctity of the monastery through collective effort, advising that the values of Dharma be preserved in their purest form. He also articulated the need for unconditional service to society, suggesting a shift in mindset toward collaborative efforts for holistic upliftment, irrespective of personal affiliations.

Furthermore, Chief Minister outlined the benefits of premier state schemes extended by the state government such as Aama Yojana, Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana, and the CM Meritorious Sikkim Scheme. He also highlighted on flagship programmes like "Mero Rukh, Mero Santati"(My Tree,My Legacy) and "Mero Bato, Mero Bot"(My Road,My Tree), as well as the installation of free sanitary napkin vending machines in schools, Chief Minister termed that these initiatives have been widely appreciated and adopted at the national level by the Centre Government.

In his concluding remarks, the Chief Minister assured full support on the feasible solutions for the aspirations presented by the Area MLA for Gyalshing-Bernyak and, even issued a directive to departments to discharge their public service responsibilities diligently.

Earlier, Area MLA Mr Lok Nath Sharma delivered the welcome address, describing the day as historic for the Sherpa community of the constituency. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister on behalf of the Organising Committee and the local residents.

Mr Sharma highlighted the multidimensional development projects upheld under the Chief Minister’s directives and mentioned about the public aspirations regarding the designated Public Health Sub-Centre at Martam and the Model Bazar at Rangsang, Lower Bermiok.

A token of appreciation was bestowed upon to the Chief Minister and distinguished guests by the Organising Committee.

The event concluded with His Eminence blessing the congregated devotees with the Sacred Tse-Wang (Life-Long Blessing).

AH&VS Gyalshing Organises Calf Rally and Livestock Show at Begha Dentam

Gyalshing,March 5:A Calf Rally and Livestock Show was successfully organised by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department, Government of Sikkim, Gyalshing District, under the National Livestock Mission (NLM) 2025–26, at Begha, Dentam,today.

The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 40 farmers, who showcased a diverse range of livestock species including cattle, sheep and goats, ducks, fowls, and pigs. Animals were displayed in species-wise sheds and ponds specially constructed for the event, and each animal was assigned a tag number for proper identification. The event provided a unique platform for invitees and the general public to witness a wide variety of livestock species at a single venue, promoting awareness on diversified livestock farming.

A judgment session formed a key highlight of the programme, where animals were evaluated by a panel of judges under different species categories. Based on the evaluation, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions were awarded in each category. The winners were honoured with merit certificates and cash prizes, while all other participants received participation certificates and honorariums in recognition of their valuable contribution.

The programme was also clubbed with activities from ATMA and SSB, benefiting farmers through various supportive initiatives. Mineral mixtures were distributed to all participating farmers to promote better livestock nutrition and productivity.

In addition, a Veterinary Civic Camp was organised by 72nd BN SSB(Yuksam), where farmers availed veterinary medicines and nutritional supplements for their livestock, further strengthening animal health support services in the area.

The programme was graced by several dignitaries including Hon’ble Area MLA 03- Maneybong-Dentam Constituency Shri Sudesh Kumar S***a;Zilla Panchayat Member Dentam–Begha TC Shri Dinesh Gurung;Panchayat President Begha GPU Smt Seema Rai , along with other Panchayat members of Begha GPU, Panchayat Member (SRK GPU) Shri Prakash Limboo;CLC President Shri DN Sherpa;CLC General Secretary Shri Rustam Gurung;CLC Youth Secretary Shri Ongdup Lepcha .

Officials present from the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department and associated institutions included, Additional Director-cum-District Head Shri BB Limboo, Joint Director-cum-D&DO Dr Phurba Lepcha, and Veterinary Officers Dr Joshbina Thapa (DVH, Geyzing), Dr Norleen Pandhi Lepcha (SDVH, Dentam), Dr Noor Saknim Lepcha (VD Uttarey), Dr Anu Lakhandri (VH Tashiding), Dr Mirash S***a (VD Tathang), Dr Summyangma Limboo (DVH, Geyzing), and staff of the AH & VS Department, Dentam Subdivision.

Other officials present included Deputy PD , ATMA , Gyalshing District Dr Karma C Bhutia, ADDO Shri Kamal Pradhan, Shri Gajen Kumar Gurung (Retd. DFO),

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Basu Dev Sharma, followed by the programme highlights delivered by Dr. Phurba Lepcha (Joint Director, AH &VS). In his address, he elaborated on the judging procedures and emphasized the importance of organizing livestock shows. He highlighted that such events encourage farmers to explore and adopt diversified livestock farming by observing species they may not have previously reared, thereby promoting integrated and sustainable farming practices.

Deputy PD , ATMA , Geyzing District Dr. Karma C. Bhutia highlighted the significance of the Kisan Gosthi conducted alongside the calf rally, aimed at promoting scientific dairy farming practices among farmers. He also elaborated on the farmer-oriented initiatives and programmes implemented by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA).

In his address, Additional Director-cum-District Head , Geyzing District Shri B. B. Limboo highlighted the various developmental activities undertaken by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department. He also informed the gathering about the formation and training of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) under Dentam Subdivision, which plays a crucial role in the prevention and control of Avian Influenza (H5N1) outbreaks.

Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Area MLA 03- Maneybong Dentam Constituency Shri Sudesh Kumar S***a appreciated the department for organizing such an impactful programme for the farming community. He announced that a hatchery unit will soon be established under Dentam Subdivision. He further assured that the proposal for the renovation and upgradation of the Banpala Sheep Breeding and Conservation Farm would be placed before the Cabinet. He also assured the public of the construction of a permanent Veterinary Hospital in the area, considering the immense potential for milk production and the growing number of progressive farmers in the region.

The programme also witnessed the distribution of certificates, cash prizes, and mineral mixtures to the participating farmers.

The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Anil Rai, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, officials, farmers, and participants for their support in making the programme a grand success.
