Umrangso: Memorandum Seeks Local Tendering for Civil Works at JK Lakshmi Cement Limited.

Umrangso, Assam:
Local citizen and civil contractor Neput Rajiyung has submitted a formal memorandum to JK Lakshmi Cement Limited and the Assam Pollution Control Board, urging that civil contracts in Umrangso be awarded through a transparent local tendering process.

The memorandum emphasizes the capability and experience of local contractors and calls for reserving a portion of civil and mechanical works—including road construction and building projects—for local participation. It highlights that such a move would promote local employment, skill development, inclusive growth, and sustainable development in the region.

The appeal also stresses that fair access to contracts would strengthen community participation and ensure long-term infrastructure development in the North Cachar Hills (Dima Hasao) area.
