New Delhi, June 6: Supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, pressing for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the conduct of various examinations.

During the protest, party workers expressed concern over examination management and questioned the government's handling of issues affecting students and job aspirants. Protesters gathered in large numbers, carrying placards and raising slogans demanding accountability, transparency, and reforms in the examination system.

CJP leaders stated that repeated controversies surrounding examinations have undermined public confidence and urged authorities to take corrective measures to ensure fairness and credibility in future recruitment and academic tests.

₹3,875 Crore Climate-Resilient Road Project Approved for Dima Hasao

Haflong, June 4: In a major boost to infrastructure development, the Assam government has approved a ₹3,875 crore climate-resilient road project for Dima Hasao, marking the largest-ever infrastructure investment in the autonomous hill district.

Announcing the decision, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that the project aims to transform connectivity in one of Assam’s most geographically challenging regions. The initiative is designed to improve all-weather road access and reduce disruptions caused by landslides, heavy rainfall, and monsoon-related damage, which frequently affect transportation across the district.

Dima Hasao, known for its rugged terrain and dense forest cover, has long faced difficulties in maintaining reliable road networks. The new project will incorporate climate-resilient engineering features such as improved drainage systems, slope stabilization measures, and stronger road structures to withstand extreme weather conditions.

The project is expected to benefit thousands of residents by enhancing access to healthcare, education, markets, and essential services. It is also likely to boost tourism, trade, and economic activities while reducing travel time and transportation costs.

Officials said the implementation process, including tendering and necessary clearances, will begin in the coming months, paving the way for a significant transformation in the district’s connectivity and development.
