Raja Govind Chandra Aarsh Gurukulam Appeals for Support Amid Water Scarcity
Diyungbra, Dima Hasao:
The Raja Govind Chandra Aarsh Gurukulam (RGCAG), located at Wasaikhong Diyungbra in Dima Hasao district, Assam, has been providing affordable education, lodging, and fooding facilities to underprivileged tribal and non-tribal students since its establishment. Despite its significant contributions, the institution has been grappling with water scarcity from the very beginning.
More than 80 students have successfully passed the HSLC examination from the Gurukulam, with many now pursuing higher studies in medical colleges, engineering institutions, and universities across the country. The Gurukulam continues to serve as a beacon of hope for students from remote hill and plain districts of Assam.
While a few donors such as Matushree Kasiba Haribhai Goti Charitable Trust, Surat, Gujarat and Param Mitra Manav Nirman Sansthan, Haryana have extended generous support by donating buildings, the institution still struggles with basic necessities, particularly water.
Appealing for broader assistance, the founder and president of the managing committee, urged NGOs, charitable trusts, and individuals to come forward and support the Gurukulam in meeting its essential needs.
"We are committed to providing human services for poor students, but the water crisis and lack of resources remain a challenge. We appeal to all like-minded organizations and individuals to kindly look into the basic needs of our Gurukulam," the managing committee said in a statement.
