🇮🇳 Freedom of Ride 2026 — Cycling Race
Freedom of Ride 2026 was an approximately 90-km cycling race in Kolkata held on 15 August 2026, celebrating Independence Day through cycling, fitness, endurance and sustainable transportation.

Date: 15 August 2026

Start time: 4:00 AM
Distance: Approximately 90 km

Organiser: Cyclology, Dquests Adventure Sports Academy and Runnfun Sports Academy

Official Community Partner: 2 Wheels Kolkata

Purpose: Promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transport while celebrating the spirit of freedom.

Race categories & cut-offs:
Road / Hybrid: 6 hours
MTB: 6 hours 30 minutes
Gearless: 7 hours

Route:

The race covered a wide stretch of Kolkata and surrounding areas:
New Town → Shakespeare Sarani → Ganguly Bagan → Arunachal Sangha → Dumurjola Stadium → Dankuni Turning

There were multiple designated starting points, identified by colours:

🟠 New Town Traffic Guard — Saffron

⚪ Decathlon, Shakespeare Sarani — White

🔵 Arunachal Sangha — Blue

🟢 Dumurjola Stadium — Green

Freedom of Ride combines competitive cycling with the celebration of India's Independence Day. For cyclists, completing around 90 km within the category cut-off is a test of endurance, pacing and determination.
