LoP Sunil Sharma Raises Concerns Over Power, Water, Roads and Jobs

Jammu & Kashmir: Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma has said that people are being forced to take to the streets over issues related to power, water, roads and employment.

He alleged that serious irregularities have taken place in the recruitment process, claiming that there is no proper system in place and that jobs have been sold.

Sharma further alleged that doctors are being appointed through contractors without a proper recruitment process, clear criteria or consideration of merit.

Calling the situation a serious irregularity and a grave injustice to the youth, he demanded greater transparency and merit-based recruitment in Jammu & Kashmir.

Big Relief for J&K SPOs Expected Soon: BJP Spokesperson Manzoor Bhat

Srinagar: BJP spokesperson Manzoor Bhat has said that a major positive development is likely to be announced soon for Special Police Officers (SPOs) of the Jammu & Kashmir Police, with their long-pending demands expected to be addressed.

Bhat said the demands of SPOs are genuine and have been under serious consideration, expressing confidence that their concerns will be resolved at the earliest.

He thanked J&K Legislative Assembly Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for taking serious cognizance of the issues faced by SPOs and giving due attention to their demands.

Bhat highlighted the dedicated services rendered by SPOs under difficult circumstances, saying their contribution towards maintaining peace and security in Jammu & Kashmir cannot be overlooked.

He expressed hope that a positive decision would be announced soon, providing much-needed relief to SPOs and their families.

Taking a dig at the National Conference, Bhat alleged that the party had failed to honour its commitments to the people. He said the BJP would not make hollow promises and would instead work with sincerity and determination to address genuine public concerns.

GMC Srinagar Intern Doctors Launch Indefinite Protest Over Stipend Demand

Srinagar, Sept 1: MBBS and BDS interns at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar staged a protest on Tuesday, blocking the main gate and raising slogans in support of their long-pending demand for an increase in their monthly stipend.

The protesting interns held placards and called upon the authorities to address their demand, saying the existing stipend does not adequately reflect the responsibilities and workload associated with their medical duties.

The interns have launched an indefinite strike, urging the concerned authorities to take immediate steps towards revising their stipend.
