Shiv Sena demands white paper on damage and safety on the Shri Mata Vaishnodevi route, immediate resumption of Yatra

Confusion over the Yatra hurts religious sentiments, devotees upset

Jammu: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded immediate resumption of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra and issuance of a white paper on the damage caused by natural disasters and landslides and safety of the Yatra route.

In a press conference held today at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that only a few days are left for the start of Navratri, the biggest religious festival of Hindus, there is confusion about the resumption of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra. While during this time, devotees of the mother from all over the country and abroad reach Shri Mata Vaishnodevi shrine with their wishes.

Except for the Corona period, perhaps never in history has the Yatra been postponed for so many days. He said that the Yatra was stopped after the disastrous rains and landslide incident on 26th August (in which 34 devotees died). Although the resumption of the Yatra was announced on 14th September, but on 13th September, citing the weather, the Yatra was once again postponed till further orders.
He said that the Shrine Board's silence on the damage caused to the yatra route and the ongoing delay in resumption of the yatra have hurt religious sentiments and have raised many questions.

Suspicions are being raised that the yatra route is unsafe and the safety of the pilgrims is in danger due to natural disasters and reckless development, cutting of mountains, destruction of the yatra form, landslides of mountains etc. Sahni has issued a white letter to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board demanding clarification of the situation. The traditional Charri Yatra is also getting affected on the auspicious Navratri.

Sahni said that due to the suspension of the yatra, shopkeepers and traders, including the services of horses, Bittu, Palki etc. on the yatra route, are facing huge financial losses. Sahni has appealed to the Shrine Board to refrain from indiscriminate development and to provide development and facilities keeping in mind the nature of the Yatra.

Demand to maintain the nature of the Yatra.

Jammu:- Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni has accused Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra of being ruined in the guise of indiscriminate development.

Sahni said that a few years ago, the first darshan of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra, 'Kol Kandoli' temple, was separated from the Yatra route due to the development of the road and construction of the flower in Nagrota and once again the second darshan 'Deva Mai' temple, just 4 km before the Katra, is also being sacrificed for the development of the road. Sahni said that he has no objection to development but has advised to refrain from tampering with our religious sentiments and the nature of the Yatra.

Airtel’s fight against fraud reduces financial losses for its customers by nearly 70%
Data from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center shows remarkable impact
Jammu, 16 September 2025: Bharti Airtel today announced that its anti-fraud initiatives have resulted in a significant decline in cybercrime complaints, and that this has been further endorsed by recent information from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) — Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
According to the MHA-I4C, there has been a staggering 68.7% decrease in the value of financial losses and a 14.3% drop in overall cybercrime incidents on the Airtel network, thereby validating the efficacy of Airtel’s fraud detection solutionin curbing cybercrime and creating a safe network for its customers. The data analyzed by MHA-I4C compares key cybercrime indicators from September 2024—prior to the launch ofAirtel’s Fraud & spam detection solution—with those from June 2025.
Commenting on the initiative, Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Airtel, said, “We are on a mission ofeliminating Spam and financial frauds for our customers. In the past one year, our AI-powered network solutions have identified over 48.3 billion spam calls and blocked 3.2 lakhs fraudulent links. However,we see this as small steps in a much larger fight. We will continue to innovate and invest heavily in this area until our networks are free of digital spam and scam.”
“The impact shared by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) - Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) encourages us tremendously and validates our efforts in this mission. I would like to commend the MHA I4C and DoT for their initiatives to curb spam and fraud and we will look forward to collaborating deeply with the authorities to eliminate the threats of cyber-crimes & frauds.”,Vittal added.
In September 2024, in a pioneering move to curb the country’s spam menace, the company launched India’s first network-based AI-powered Spam detection solution. It went a significant way towards solving the growing menace of spam calls and messages. The solution remains a first-of-its-kind solution by a telecom service provider in the country, to alert customers in real-time to all suspected spam calls and SMSes. In continuation to this, in May 2025 the company unveiled world’s first, solution that detects and blocks malicious links across all forms of communication on its network, in real time. This safe service has been seamlessly integrated with, and auto-enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers at no additional cost. The findings of the I4C analysis highlight the effectiveness of these proactive measures by Airtel for its customers.

Insult of national symbols can't be tolerated at all: Shiv Sena

Strong condemnation of violence at Hazratbal, demand for legal action.

Jammu:-
Shiv Sena (UBT) state unit leaders have strongly reacted to the incident of damaging the national symbol 'Ashoka Pillar' and creating ruckus on the occasion of Eid-e-Milan (Friday, 5 September) at the famous Hazratbal Dargah of Kashmir and have condemned it and demanded strict legal action.

While taking to the media persons at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that damaging the national symbols is a serious, condemnable, unacceptable criminal act .The National Honor Insult Prevention Act, 1971 to provides for a punishment of up to three years of imprisonment or fine for acts like burning, defacing or disrespecting national symbols in public.
He said that we are not in favour of hurting the religious sentiments of any religion. But no religion teaches violence. It is unfortunate that even today some fundamentalist and separatist leaders in Kashmir are sowing the seeds of hatred against the nation in the hearts of the young generation under the guise of religion. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered separatism and terrorism for the last almost three and a half decades. As soon as the situation starts becoming normal, the spark of separatism and fundamentalism is ignited.Sahni said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is under the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor. Before this spark flares up further and political parties make a living out of it, the police should take immediate action and identify those who insulted and damaged the national symbol and take appropriate and strict legal action against them.
Sahni, while expressing his reaction to the dispute between the elected government and the Lieutenant Governor regarding the holiday of Eid-e-Milan, has advocated taking care of the religious sentiments of all religions.. On this occasion Meenakshi Chhibber (President Mehila wing) ,Vikas Bakshi (Gen. Secretary) , Sanjeev Kohli(Working President) were present.

Huge resentment among the people against the BJP government at the center: Shiv Sena

BJP presented a fresh example of discrimination: Sahni

Jammu. The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (UBT) has accused the BJP government at the center of discrimination against Jammu division and forgotten the immense public support received in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections for the delay in giving relief package to the Jammu division which is facing natural disasters.

In a press conference held today at the state central office of the party, state president Manish Sahni said that Jammu division is continuously facing the havoc of natural disasters. Due to devastating rains, landslides, cloudbursts, floods, lives have been lost, houses have been destroyed, infrastructure has been damaged and families are left with nothing. The people of Jammu division have expected a relief package from the Center. There is a extreme disappointment among the people due to no relief package being announced even after a week and during the Jammu visit of Home Minister Amit Shah. Sahni said that according to information received from some newspapers, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has allocated only Rs 209 crore to Jammu and Kashmir as the central share for the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
While in the year 2014, a relief package of Rs 80 thousand crore was announced by the Modi government at the Center for relief from the devastating floods in Kashmir. At that time there was a PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahni said that from 2014 to 2024, the people of Jammu division gave full support to the BJP in almost all the elections including Lok Sabha, Assembly. At the same time, the BJP, which always blames the Kashmiri leadership by accusing them of being a well-wisher of Jammu and discriminating against Jammu, is in power at the Center and indirectly holds power in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, despite not announcing any special relief package immediately during the natural disaster in Jammu division, there is a lot of resentment among the people against the BJP.
