In a significant arms recovery operation, Jammu Police apprehended one person at TCP Naka on Byepass Nagrota on monday,29.07.2025.

The accused, identified as *Azan Hameed Gazi S/o. Abdul Hameed Gazi R/o Hilalabad, Qamarwari, Srinagar,* was intercepted while travelling from Jammu towards Srinagar in a *Toyota Etios (registration number HR38Z/2066).*

During the search of the vehicle, police personnel recovered *three pistols, three empty magazines, eight live cartridges and two empty cartridges* from a handbag concealed under the co-driver’s seat.The accused failed to produce any valid documents or licenses for the recovered arms and ammunition.

Acting swiftly, police registered a case, *FIR No. 170/2025, Section 3/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Nagrota.*

The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to trace the origin and intended use of the weapons.

Serious Incident Report – Hit and Run with Intentional Harm

Vehicle Number JK02DP9594 was involved in a deliberate and dangerous assault today within the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.

The driver intentionally hit an elderly person, reversed the vehicle, and struck the victim again. Following this, the driver used abusive language and issued serious threats to the old man, causing fear and panic at the scene.

This is a grave and inhumane act that must be addressed immediately. We urge the Gandhi Nagar Police authorities to take strict action against the offender and ensure justice is served.

Witnesses and residents demand swift investigation and legal proceedings.

Jammu:- With the tenure of the Lieutenant Governor ending on August 6, the post should be abolished and a complete stop should be put on the dual power system, A retired army or police officer should be appointed as the Governor and the state status should be restored with special privileges under Section 371, stated by Manish Sahni, President,Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit.

In a press conference held today at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that the experiment of making Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with the abrogation of Section 370 in August 2019 has proved to be a complete failure. Which will be seen as a period of violation of the rights of the sons of the soil and conspiracies to destroy the local cultural identity.
Nefarious and illegal activities like terrorism, target killing, drug trafficking, crime, and women trafficking are continuing as usual. Drug trafficking along with terrorism is at its peak in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the data of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), more than 1.12 lakh kilograms of drugs have been seized in Jammu and Kashmir between 2018 and 2022. At the same time, after the police department came under the Union Home Ministry and the increase in the jurisdiction of the Lieutenant Governor, the era of accountability is almost over.
The dream of rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits is still incomplete. Despite 11 months of formation of the elected government, four Rajya Sabha seats from Jammu and Kashmir are lying vacant. At the same time, by-elections are not being announced on the assembly seats of Budgam, Nagrota. Sahni has demanded from the Modi government at the Center to appoint a retired senior army or police officer (with experience of fighting terrorism) as the Governor , not a politician and to restore the state status with special privileges under Section 371. Jammu – Nova IVF Fertility launches its 100th centre in Jammu, bringing fertility care closer to patients in the region. The Total Fertility Rate (TFR) in J&K has reached 1.4, which is significantly below the replacement level of 2.1.

Swift Restoration of Transformer in B/C Block, Gandhi Nagar Earns Public Appreciation

The transformer in B/C Block, Gandhi Nagar had developed a technical fault, resulting in a disruption of power supply to the area. Residents promptly reported the issue to the concerned authorities, including Junior Engineer Mr. Vikram Gupta and Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Mr. Nitin Mahajan.

Demonstrating commendable efficiency and dedication, both officers took swift action. Within just a few hours, a replacement transformer was arranged and installed, restoring power supply to the locality without delay.

The residents of B/C Block expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to AEE Mr. Nitin Mahajan and JE Mr. Vikram Gupta for their prompt and proactive response, especially during the ongoing summer heat and rising humidity levels, when uninterrupted electricity is essential for daily living.

Such timely response not only ensured the comfort and convenience of the residents but also reflects the commitment of the Power Development Department (PDD) towards public service and rapid grievance redressal.

Meeting Regarding Upcoming ULB and Panchayati Elections
