The journey of Sangbad Prahari began on 7 February 2015 from Barpeta and Guwahati under the chief editorship of Meser Ali Ahmed and the editorial leadership of Saiyad Bulbul Jamanur Hoque as a weekly newspaper. With the aim of keeping pace with the digital era and presenting every news item in the Assamese language to readers with accuracy and speed, Sangbad Prahari officially launched Assam’s first Assamese web news portal on 4 November 2016 at the Dispur Press Club, Guwahati. Continuing its progressive journey, Sangbad Prahari stepped into a new phase as an Assamese daily newspaper on 7 December 2025, under the editorship of journalist Girindra Saikia. In addition to its own print edition, Sangbad Prahari operates high-speed and advanced digital platforms through its official website and mobile app (including e-paper), and is easily accessible on Google, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
