🐘🌿 **Happy International Elephant Day!** 🌿🐘

Today, we celebrate the gentle giants who shape our forests and play a vital role in keeping ecosystems healthy. Elephants are not just magnificent animals — they are **forest engineers, seed dispersers, and guardians of biodiversity.**

But their future depends on us. Habitat loss, human–elephant conflict, poaching, and other threats continue to put these incredible animals at risk.

🌱 **Protect their habitat.**
🐘 **Respect their space.**
🤝 **Promote peaceful coexistence.**
🌳 **Keep our forests wild.**

Because when we protect elephants, **we protect the forests they call home — and the future of countless species.**

**Let’s protect. Let’s coexist. Let’s act. 💚**

🌿 Happy Guru Poornima! 🌿
On this Guru Poornima, we bow not only to the teachers who shape our minds but also to the greatest teacher of all—Nature. 🌳
The forest teaches us without words:
🍃 Patience through ancient trees.
🌊 Resilience through flowing rivers.
🌱 Growth through every seed that sprouts.
🦋 Balance through every living being.
When we slow down and listen, nature reminds us that every life is connected and every action matters.
This Guru Poornima, let us honour our greatest Guru by protecting our forests, conserving wildlife, and living in harmony with the natural world.
“The forest is our Guru. Let us learn from it, respect it, and protect it.” 💚
Happy Guru Poornima from Wild Karnataka.

International Tiger Day | 29 July

Tigers are more than magnificent animals. As apex predators, they help maintain the balance of entire forest ecosystems. Protecting tiger habitats also protects rivers, trees, biodiversity and the communities that depend on these landscapes.

International Tiger Day was established in 2010 following the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit to draw global attention to declining wild tiger populations and the urgent need for habitat protection, anti-poaching efforts and responsible conservation.

This Tiger Day, let us learn, share, support ethical conservation and respect the forests that tigers call home.

Save tigers. Save forests. Protect our shared future.

Bandipur National Park safari charges will increase from September 1 after the Forest Department revised the fee structure for tourists. Jeep safari prices will double, while bus safari, camera usage, private vehicle entry and other charges will also rise.

20/07/2026

An incident of Tamil Nadu-based bikers trespassing into the safari route at Bandipur National Park was reported yesterday.

The biker, along with a pillion rider, was seen travelling on his motorcycle on the safari route located 3 kms from Bandipur old campus at about 4.50 pm. With tigers and other wild animals being sighted at the tiger reserve, the bikers have neglected the safety norms by straying into the forest.

On witnessing the bikers entering the restricted forest area, a few of the Mysuru-based tourists warned them not to enter the forest. However, not yielding to the warning, they continued their jolly ride about 2 kms into the forest and returned on the same route. The video of which was captured by some tourists.

Meanwhile, by the time the forest guards could arrive, the duo had fled the spot through the Kekkanahalla check post and Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu. The Forest officials, who have noted down the motorcycle registration number, have passed it on to the Mudumalai forest officials and Tamil Nadu Police.

Bandipur Tiger Reserve Director L. Nandish has also instructed the officials to identify the miscreants and initiate necessary action.
