"Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life" – IEC Awareness Programme Under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan at Government Hr. Sec. School Bahufort, Jammu & Kashmir
In alignment with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s flagship mega campaign Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, an impactful awareness programme titled “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” was successfully held at Government Higher Secondary School Bahufort. The event aimed to educate and inspire the community to choose a healthy, drug-free life and ensure the message reaches every home and every individual.
With the participation of around 100 people, including social activist Mr. Sumit ,Retd.dysp.Sh.Bishan Das,students, parents, local residents, and volunteers, the programme was a powerful community effort dedicated to spreading awareness and guiding those who may be struggling to find hope and recovery.
Distinguished Educators Present at the Event:
Dr. Seema, Medical Officer, Health Department, administered a collective pledge against drug abuse and emphasized the importance of physical and mental health.
Mr. Raspal Singh, Sub Inspector, Police Department, discussed the role of law enforcement in curbing drug-related issues and encouraged vigilant community action.
Madam Varsha Mangotra, Social Welfare Department, highlighted the emotional and societal impacts of addiction and shared ways to support affected individuals.
Mr. Tanav Rajput, Sub Inspector, Excise Department, spoke about the enforcement of drug laws and encouraged youth to be informed and responsible.
Sh. Subash Chander ,Resource Person for Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, delivered an insightful address on how people can come out of addiction and rebuild their lives with support and willpower.
Smt. Karuna Chettri, SMDC Member, addressed the importance of community and school collaboration in spreading awareness.
Ms. Mehjabeen, representative from the Education Department and Nodal Officer for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the school, highlighted the role of education in nurturing awareness and prevention.
Cultural and Student-Led Activities:
A moving skit, performed by students and directed by Anita Madam and Aditi Madam, portrayed the journey of an individual battling addiction and finding hope through support and awareness. Students also delivered speeches expressing their understanding and strong stance against drug abuse.
The programme was smoothly conducted and anchored by Mrs. Deepti Madam, who ensured the event's successful flow. It concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the respected Principal, Madam Anuradha, who acknowledged the contributions of all departments, guests, and especially the school faculty.
Event Highlights and Objective:
The main objective of the programme was to ensure that the message of drug prevention reaches a large number of people—especially those who may be silently suffering. The event served as a platform to not only spread awareness but also share stories of recovery and resilience, showing that help is available and healing is possible.
The united effort of the entire school faculty played a vital role in making this programme a grand success. The event stood as a symbol of community strength, empathy, and the shared responsibility to fight the menace of drug abuse.
Together, under the banner of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, the school and community took a firm stand:
