DISTRIBUTION OF MEDICAL AID EQUIPMENT/ ITEMS TO SPECIALLY ABLED PEOPLE BY BHAGWAN MAHAVEER VIKLANG SAHAYATA SAMITI AND CONDUCT OF MEDICAL CAMP AT THANAMANDI ON 10 JULY 2025
1. In a heartwarming initiative aimed at empowering the specially abled community, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, organised a distribution drive of medical aid equipm ent at Thanamandi, Rajouri District on 10 July 2025. The event witnessed the distribution of essential mobility and support aids including wheelchairs, aluminium crutches, hearing aids, Blind sticks, elbow crutches and orthotic devices to specially-abled children and people from underprivileged backgrounds, which also witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the region, set up with the aim of not only providing physical support through the distribution of wheelchairs and other equipment, but also ensuring that beneficiaries received personalized medical evaluation and orthopedic guidance based on their specific needs.
2. The event held at centrally accessible venue to ensure maximum participation for distribution ceremony and medical camp drew an encouraging response from individuals across districts (Poonch and Rajouri) of Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, representatives of Indian Army, healthcare professionals, Social workers and local community members. During the event, tea and snacks was also catered for all invitees. A free Medical Camp was also organized to help the local populace in leading a normal and healthy life, which is otherwise challenging considering the terrain and weather conditions. Requisite consultation, vaccination and medicines were provided to help the invitees avail medical treatment benefits. Representative of Indian Army and Civil dignitaries delivered enlightening lecture on public welfare, preventive healthcare, awareness of lifestyle diseases and community development. This messages emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare and social responsibility towards the local populace. The welfare event witnessed 276 people including (160 x Gents, 80 x Ladies, 30 children and 06 Civil Dignitaries) attended the event.
3. This gesture and effort by Army was highly appreciated by the AWAM. This endeavor by Army to reach out to the population residing in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in developing and strengthening trust between JAWAN and AWAM. The event also served as a platform to strengthen the bond between Army and the people of this region. It showcased Army’s commitment towards service to the nation.
