“Landscapes” Photo Competition -

Theme: “Landscapes”
Praxis Gallery seeks photographic artwork that explores a broad, interpretive, and personal investigation of the landscape – both as a place, or an idea – as a literal expression or conceptual iteration. All genres, capture types, black & white and color, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.
Awards:

Thirty images will be selected by the juror for exhibition at Praxis Gallery (Exhibition Dates: Dec 18, 2021 – Jan 3rd, 2022).
A Juror’s Choice award, two Honorable Mentions and a Directors Choice award [for the most cohesive and compelling series of images submitted] will be awarded and featured in the exhibition, the printed show catalog and the online show gallery.

Drone photography and videography are becoming big business, from real estate to special effects such as simulating views from aircraft or a bird’s eye. Aerial photography can be simply stunning and even abstract which makes for great photos.

With money out there and more and more people getting into using drones for photography, legal questions arise over what you can fly over and take photos of. In this article, I will explain the legalities of flying drones over private property and related issues.
As a general rule, it is legal to fly a drone over private property if the flight rules are followed and you fly outdoors, as property owners do not own the airspace, as long as you are not causing a nuisance or flying recklessly. Exceptions include states which passed laws restricting the flying of drones in private places.

Many photographers make use of Adobe Photoshop for all their editing work, and any issues with the program can have a huge impact on productivity. If you are seeing the message “Photoshop could not save because the disk is full”, even when you have sufficient space on your hard disk, it can be due to multiple reasons.

I used to have this issue myself. Let’s now explore all the possible reasons and find a solution for you so you can get on with work.
Solutions to this error include purchasing latest version of Photoshop, saving as different file type, saving “as copy”, saving to a different disk or partition, not saving to Documents, setting correct file system, error checking your disk and others listed.

Maker Faire Zagreb Goes Outdoors This Weekend - Make: -

The countdown begins for Maker Faire Zagreb 2021 as it inspires and delights the Croatian capital from European Square, home to the city’s famed Christmas market and concerts and other festivals throughout the year. The move is precautionary due to the pandemic and the event, currently in its third edition, will return to the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum when conditions allow. Last year Maker Faire Zagreb 2020 took place in the museum, but the main event was online – and exhibitors were given the chance to show their work, ideas and inventions in 3 minute videos. As in the past, this year’s event will be preceded by the STEAM Week education event hosted by organizers FabLab Croatia based in the faculty of Architecture at Zagreb University.
The Maker Faire, along with STEAM WEEK are initiatives aimed at increasing participation in DIY activities, skills in technology, and an innovation mindset. Association FabLab Croatia

Join In The Fun At Maker Faire Tokyo 2021 - Make: -

The two-day program explores a wide variety of topics and brings back its unique Twitter “exhibition” activation alongside the livestream on YouTube. For this, Makers who want to join use hashtags and #作品発表. (作品発表 means “exhibit of works” and this hashtag is used to differentiate exhibition projects from general tweets.) A time slot is set for each exhibition category to spread out the total number tweets and allow participants to experience the variety of projects.
The categories and schedule are as follows:
On Saturday, October 2nd, Makers who were selected as an exhibitor for the Maker Faire Tokyo on-site exhibition can post their work. If makers want to introduce their work on a service other than Twitter (YouTube, SlideShare, etc.), they can upload the work to any service and then include the URL in the tweet.

Capture One Brings Back Export Tab in v14.4 - Beyond Photo Tips -

In version 14.2 of Capture One 21, the company removed the years-old method of exporting images in favor of an easier-to-use export-window-styled workflow.
The move had mixed responses, with some professional and enterprise-level users claiming that it broke their workflow. Others – most notably beginners – welcomed the more user-friendly ‘export’ button in the toolbar and subsequent windowed dialog workflow.Advertisements
