Just a day after operations began, traffic congestion along the 11.5 km stretch from Central Silk Board to Delta Electronics–Bommasandra dipped by 10% overall—with a staggering 32% drop (21 km) during evening rush hours (4–9 pm) as city-goers opted for faster train rides home . By the next morning (7–11 am), the benefits crept into the early commute too, with traffic down by 22% compared to typical Tuesday levels . The new line has boosted metro ridership from 800,000 to over 1 million daily, with more than 50,000 passengers using the Yellow Line alone . While the initial results are promising, Bengaluru’s traffic cops say the real payoff lies ahead—with increased train frequency and stronger last-mile connectivity expected to shift even more commuters from cars to rails .
