PRESS NOTE Caretaker Who Robbed Elderly Couple Arrested by Domalguda Police On 16-10-2025, acting on credible information, the sleuths of Domalguda Police Station apprehended the accused who had committed a robbery of gold ornaments within the limits of P.S. Domalguda and recovered 6.7 tolas of gold ornaments (four gold bangles and one gold chain-Mangalsutra) and one cell phone from his possession. Details of the Accused: Name: Parvathi Shankara Matam Govardhan Father's Name: Girivaraprasad Age: 27 years Occupation: Caretaker Address: Residing at Flat No. 15, H. No. 3-6-472, Heritage Apartments, Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad. Native: H.No. 7-31, Kunderu Village, Kankipadu Mandal, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. Date of Offence: 12-10-2025, between 18:00 to 20:00 hours Place of Offence: Flat No. 15, H. No. 3-6-472, Heritage Apartments, Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad Date & Time of Arrest: 16-10-2025 Brief of the Complaint: On 13-10-2025 at 1400 hours, a complaint was received from Sri Joginapalli Sreedhar Rao, stating that his aged in-laws Smt. Anusuya (83 years) and Sri Anand Rao (86 years)-reside at Flat No. 15, Heritage Apartments, Himayath Nagar. The couple has three children: one son residing in the USA; an elder daughter residing in Madinaguda; and a younger daughter, the complainant's wife, residing with him. To assist the elderly couple, the family had employed a caretaker, Govardhan, in November 2024 with a monthly salary of ₹25,000/-. He had been staying with the couple and attending to them round the clock. On 13-10-2025 at about 10:00 hours, the complainant received a phone call from Ms. Suvarna, the cook working at the residence, informing him that Smt. Anusuya was found on her bed with bleeding injuries to her head and Sri Anand Rao was found unconscious in his bedroom with injuries. The complainant immediately rushed to the spot and shifted both victims to Shalini Hospital, Barkatpura, for emergency treatment. Upon inspection, he found that four gold bangles (approx. 4 tolas), one gold chain (Mangalsutra) (approx. 2 tolas), and one mobile phone were missing. The caretaker Govardhan was also missing since 12-10-2025 at 20:20 hours, and his mobile phone was switched off. Basing on the complaint, a robbery case was registered in Cr. No. 307/2025 U/Sec 309(6) BNS of P.S. Domalguda, and Sri Ch. Sudhakar Rao, Detective Inspector of Police, took up the investigation.
