Thousands of starlings flew near and over the Rio-Antirrio bridge in a tight sphere-like formation. They are seen expanding and contracting and changing shape, seemingly without any sort of leader. Each common starling changes its course and speed as a result of the movement of its closest neighbors.

The astonishing scene with the massive flock of birds was captured on video.

Washington: The United States dramatically raised the alarm Friday over Ukraine, warning that a Russian invasion starting with civilians caught under aerial bombing could start in days and telling US citizens to leave within 48 hours.
An attack by the more than 100,000 Russian troops currently massed next to Ukraine "could occur any day now," White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters in Washington.

Dismissing speculation that the Kremlin would never trigger the crisis while the Beijing Olympics were still underway in close Russian ally China, Sullivan said such an attack "could occur" before the Games end on February 20.

Karnataka High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the Hijab issue petition till February 14. The court ordered students to not wear any cloth, whether Hijab or Saffron scarves, which can instigate people, till the matter is resolved.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru police commissioner Kamal Pant has promulgated prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC against any gathering, agitation, or protests of any type within the area of 200-metre radius from the gates of the schools, pre-university colleges, degree colleges or other similar educational institutions in Bengaluru City for a period of two weeks from Wednesday till February 22.

A young man who was trapped on a hill in Kerala's Palakkad since Monday was rescued this morning after a marathon effort by the army.
Post rescue, the man, R Babu, dressed in T-shirt and shorts, was seen pictured with smiling helmeted army personnel. Some were even seen clicking selfies and flashing the victory sign.

"Very thanks, Indian Army," said R Babu sitting among army men. He then kisses the army personnel as a gesture of thanks and joins the men in chanting "Indian Army ki jai, Bharat mata ki jai"

Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace laureate and women’s rights activist, on Tuesday took to Twitter to share her horror over the ongoing hijab controversy raging in Karnataka where Muslim girls wearing the headscarves are being barred from attending classes.

Yousafzai said refusing to let girls go to school in their hijab is horrifying, adding objectification of women continued in one way or the other – for wearing less or more. The Nobel laureate, who had taken bullets from the Taliban in Pakistan in 2012 for speaking up about the rights of girls and their education, urged Indian leaders to stop marginalisation of Muslim women.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday referred to Jawaharlal Nehru and quoted him extensively as he took aim at the opposition Congress in parliament, without naming Rahul Gandhi, who had attacked the government last week.
Tackling criticism of inflation on his watch, PM Modi went back to Jawaharlal Nehru's address to the nation from the Red Fort as India's first Prime Minister.

He said his government was trying to keep inflation in check and that it had been a priority for him.
