16/09/2025

The Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) has declared that private hospitals in the State will stop offering medical services under the Aarogyasri health scheme from midnight, September 16.

The decision comes after the government allegedly failed to clear long-pending payments despite repeated assurances.

TANHA president Dr. Vaddiraju Rakesh said the association had held several meetings with Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha and officials of the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust over the past three weeks. However, he pointed out that there was no progress in releasing the dues.

"Though officials promised action multiple times, nothing concrete has happened. With no option left, all private hospitals connected to Aarogyasri will suspend services indefinitely," he stated.

The association expressed regret to patients and appealed for public understanding. Earlier this year, private hospitals had staged a similar protest but withdrew after government intervention. TANHA had also warned in August that it would resume the strike if payments were not settled.
