*High-Level Coordination Meeting on Muharram Arrangements*
*CP V.C. Sajjanar Calls for Peaceful Conduct of Procession*
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V.C. Sajjanar (IPS) has called upon all government departments to work in coordination to ensure the successful and peaceful conduct of the historic 'Bibi-ka-Alam' *Matam* procession—organized by the Shia Muslim community with great devotion during the holy month of Muharram (on the occasion of Ashura).
He stated that the police department has implemented stringent security measures in advance along the route of this traditional procession to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience.
A high-level coordination meeting regarding Muharram arrangements was held on Friday at the Salar Jung Museum auditorium in Hyderabad, presided over by CP Sri V.C. Sajjanar. Religious leaders from the Shia community, public representatives, and senior officials from various government departments participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the CP explained that the procession would commence at the Bibi-ka-Alam Ashurkhana in Dabeerpura and proceed via Etebar Chowk, Kotla Alijah, Panjesha, Mir Alam Mandi, Charminar, Gulzar House, Purani Haveli, and Darulshifa, finally concluding at Masjid-e-Ilahi in Chaderghat. It was stated that, keeping the procession participants in mind, a clear traffic diversion plan is being implemented alongside the provision of adequate vehicle parking facilities. Additional police platoons, along with the Rapid Action Force, are being deployed to maintain law and order. It was emphasized that continuous surveillance by 'She Teams' and Task Force units would be maintained to ensure the safety of women.
Officials noted that, drawing from past experiences, all necessary precautionary measures are being taken to ensure the procession proceeds smoothly without any untoward incidents.
Special guidelines were issued regarding the safety and care of the elephant participating in the procession. Officials were instructed to bring the elephant to the city well in advance of the procession to allow for adequate rest. It was directed that a sufficient buffer zone
