THE BANDLAGUDA POLICE, CHANDRAYANGUTTA DIVISION, RAJENDRA NAGAR ZONE, HYDERABAD CITY, SOLVE HOUSE-BREAKING BY NIGHT CASE; WOMAN ACCUSED ARRESTED, WHO IS HABITUAL OFFENER AND STOLEN GOLD & SILVER ORNAMENTS RECOVERED.
On 31-05-2026, a complaint was received from Sri N. Giri Babu, r/o. EWS Colony, Ghouse Nagar, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, stating that on 30-05-2026 at about 09:00 AM, he along with his family members had gone to Yadagirigutta. While they were at the temple, he received a phone call during the early morning hours of 31-05-2026 from his sister-in-law informing him that the main door lock of his house had been broken open. Upon returning home, he found that the main door and almirah locks had been broken and that approximately 91 grams of gold ornaments and 100 tolas of silver ornaments were missing. Based on the complaint, a case was registered in Crime No. 228/2026, U/Sec. 305 & 331(4) BNS, 2023, and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, the complainant expressed suspicion against his neighbour, Smt. Kapari Narsamma, owing to previous disputes between her and the complainant's family and her alleged involvement in earlier theft cases.
Upon receiving credible information and based on the evidence collected during the investigation, the Bandlaguda Police immediately swung into action and apprehended the accused person, Smt. Kapperi Narsamma. During sustained interrogation, she confessed to the commission of the offence. She disclosed that, owing to previous enmity with the complainant and after learning that the complainant's family had gone to Yadagirigutta, she took advantage of their absence and, during the intervening night of 30/31-05-2026, broke open the locks of the house and almirah and committed theft of the gold and silver ornaments kept therein.
Pursuant to her confession, the police recovered the stolen property consisting of 8.2 Tulas of gold ornaments and 1 Kg 80 grams of silver ornaments, together with the iron pipe and sickle allegedly used for breaking open the locks. The total value of the recovered property is approximately Rs. 15,00,000/- (Rupees fifteen Lakhs only).
The arrested accused person Smt. Kapari Narsamma W/o. Shiva, aged about 44 yrs, Occ: Labourer r/o. EWS Colony, Ghouse Nagar, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad and native of Khanapur Village, Mahaboob Nagar District, is being produced before the Hon'ble Court for judicial remand. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain her involvement in other similar offences and criminal cases, if any.
Police advise citizens to ensure proper locking arrangements for their houses while proceeding on outstation trips and to inform the local police about their absence from home. Citizens are also encouraged to install CCTV cameras wherever feasible and to immediately report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities to Police Station.
The entire investigation was done under the direct supervision of Sri S. Srinivas, IPS., Dy. Commissioner of Police, Rajendra Nagar Zone, Hyderabad City and Sri A. Sudhakar, Asst. Commissioner of Police, they have appreciated Sri R. Devender, Inspector of Police, Sri S. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, DI of Police, along with their team, for swift action in detecting the case and recovery the property.
