CM Revanth Reddy holds a review of the Panchayat Raj department today.
Honourable Chief Minister Shri A Revanth Reddy ordered the officials of the State Panchayat Raj department to ensure the prompt payment of the salaries of 50,000 plus employees on the first of every month. The Chief Minister warned of stringent action if any delay in the timely disbursement of salaries to the employees.
At a review of the State Panchayat Raj department on Tuesday, the CM emphasized that measures should be taken so that all the Gram Panchayat employees get their salaries on the very first day of every month.
The Chief Minister announced that the
government would sanction ₹50 crore every month to facilitate the payment of salaries to the employee. On the lines of IAS officers, Gram Panchayat employees should also get salaries promptly. Further , CM Revanth Reddy said that all outsourcing and contract employees should be paid their salaries along with government employees.
During the review, the Chief Minister also directed the officials to modify the act to permit Gram Panchayats to deposit their Own Source Revenue directly into their bank account rather than Treasury account in accordance with the proposed amendment to Section 70(3) of the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018. The Chief Minister has permitted to reinstate a regulation which was abolished by the previous government—that had undermined the autonomy of Gram Panchayats regarding their own-source revenue.
Reviewing the pension distribution mechanism, the CM ordered to deposit pension in the beneficiary account directly and stop the payment through the Postal department. The officials were instructed to streamline the pensions based on data from Voter IDs, Aadhaar, and SEEEPC records.
Among newly sanctioned pensions, top priority must be accorded to single women, the Chief Minister ordered.
