Vikarabad is one of the Smart City of 20 municipalities in Telangana selected for development of a digital master plan and Geographical Information System (GIS). The Indian Navy is building its second Very Low Frequency (VLF) communication transmission station at the Damagundam Reserve Forest in Vikarabad district, Telangana. Built at a cost of ₹3,200 crore across 2,900 acres, the strategic facility will enable secure, real-time long-distance communication with submerged submarines.
The Telangana government is planning India's first dedicated Data Centre City across 1,500 acres in Aloor village (Chevella mandal), located in the Vikarabad district about 55 km from Hyderabad. This mega-project aims to meet massive global AI and cloud computing demands, targeting a major milestone for Digital Telangana
