Warangal, the next major hub in Telangana

Warangal with its proximity to Hyderabad and with over 300 educational institutions, which produce skilled and semi-skilled labour, give it a unique advantage over the other tier-II and tier-III cities and has the potential to be the next major hub for economic activity in Telangana after Hyderabad.

The Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) for Warangal Urban is Rs 10,012 crores and for Warangal Rural is Rs 7,963 crores in 2015-16. As per District Industries Centre data for both the Districts of Warangal, the total number of industrial units are 781, with 719 in Warangal Rural and 62 in Warangal Urban. The units are predominantly agro and food based. Minerals based industries are also operating

CII Telangana chairman V Rajanna said, “Warangal Urban can become a potential hub for services sector including IT, ITeS, Tourism and Hospitality sectors while Warngal Rural is suitable for textiles and food processing. There is a need to enhance economic activity in these locations.”

He told Telangana Today, “Warangal has a great talent hub because of the academic institutions. The city can attract food processing and textiles units. Once infrastructure is created, there could be more investments from the industry. As Hyderabad created manufacturing base, Warangal can also replicate the manufacturing ecosystem where ancillary units can come up. Hardware facilities can come up here.”

He informed, “CII recently held sessions in Warangal to empower rural entrepreneurship where 300 women partcipated. We have signed a MoU with NIT Warangal to train faculty in emerging technologies. We are collaborating with TASK regional centre by giving inputs on what industry wants.”

The Government’s recent announcement of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park is a significant move. The proposed ‘cotton-to-garment’ park will be set up in an area of 2,000 – 3,000 acres, with a vision to have a “fibre to fabric (end-to-end)” facility. Expected to garner investment of Rs 3,900 crores, employment creation potential is estimated at 75,000 jobs with over 25,000 direct jobs.

Hyderabad-Warangal corridor will be busier due to the focused development of Yadadri. Warangal also has a rich cultural heritage and a great tourist destination because of 1000 pillar Shiva temple, Ramappa caves, Badrakali temple, etc.

Rajanna recommened to Government of Telangana that Warangal should have a mid-size airport and also high speed rail connectivity between Hyderabad and Warangal to make it like Shanghai and Hangzhou of China.

Smart City works
Hyderabad: Principal Secretary to Municipal Administration and Urban development Arvind Kumar on Thursday asked the officials to prepare a list of works which can be immediately grounded and completed at the earliest taken up under the Warangal Smart City Corporation.

He held a review meeting with officials at the secretariat. Kumar asked the officials to identify different stretches of roads in the city where footfalls are high and develop them to have a visible impact to the public at large. He said that works should be taken up in places of public importance. He asked the officials to ensure that road works should be completed before the onset of monsoon so as to avoid inconvenience to the public.

He wanted the officials to take up construction of mini sewage treatment plants in as many places as possible. He also asked the officials to make a list of all government buildings for installing solar roof top PVs. Construction of rain water harvesting structures should also be prioritsed, he added.

Vision Document
Apex industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana has commissioned a report titled “Warangal Vision Document: A Roadmap for Economic Development of Warangal (Rural & Urban)”. This document is a visioning exercise of the two districts of Warangal- Rural and Urban. The report that was brought out in collaboration with Vantage Management Consulting points out the two districts have enormous potential which has not yet been tapped.

It says, following the Chief Minister’s vision of Bangaru Telangana, there is indeed a clear need for tier-II & tier-III cities/districts of the State to be developed into centres of enhanced economic activity. The report identifies that Warangal Urban has potential to become a hub for the service industry especially, tourism, BPO and IT&ITES, while Warangal Rural has the required prospects to become the textile and food processing hub.

గజ్వేల్‌లో 100 పడకల ఆస్పత్రిని పరిశీలించిన ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ కేసీఆర్

సీఎం శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ సిద్దిపేట జిల్లా గజ్వేల్‌లో పర్యటిస్తున్నారు. గజ్వేల్-ప్రజ్ఞాపూర్‌లో నిర్మిస్తున్న 100 పడకల ఆస్పత్రిని క్షేత్రస్థాయిలో పరిశీలించారు. అనంతరం గజ్వేల్‌లో వెజ్, నాన్‌వెజ్ మార్కెట్ యార్డు నిర్మాణ పనులను పరిశీలించారు. గజ్వేల్ నగర పంచాయతీ పరిధిలోని సంగాపూర్‌లో పర్యటించి..డబుల్ బెడ్‌రూం ఇండ్ల నిర్మాణాన్ని పరిశీలించారు. ఫొటో గ్యాలరీ ద్వారా డబుల్ బెడ్‌రూం ఇండ్ల నిర్మాణ తీరును అధికారులు సీఎంకు వివరించారు. సీఎం వెంట మంత్రులు శ్రీ లక్ష్మారెడ్డి ,శ్రీ జోగు రామన్న, ఎంపీ శ్రీ కొత్త ప్రభాకర్‌రెడ్డి, డిప్యూటీ స్పీకర్ శ్రీమతి పద్మాదేవేందర్‌రెడ్డి ఉన్నారు.

రైతు పండించిన ప్రతిగింజ కొంటాం

రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా రైతులు పండించిన ప్రతిగింజను మద్దతు ధరకు కొనుగోలు చేస్తామని, ఇందుకు అనుగుణంగా అన్నదాతలకు అందుబాటులో కొనుగోలు కేంద్రాలను ఏర్పాటుచేశామని రాష్ట్ర భారీ నీటిపారుదల, మార్కెటింగ్‌శాఖ మంత్రి తన్నీరు హరీశ్‌రావు చెప్పారు. మంగళవారం సిద్దిపేటలోని మార్కెట్ యార్డులో కందుల కొనుగోలు కేంద్రాన్ని మంత్రి ప్రారంభించారు. అంతకు ముందు చిన్నకోడూరు మండలంలో జరుగుతున్న అంతగిరి రిజర్వాయర్ నిర్మాణ పనులను పరిశీలించారు. సొంత ఖర్చులతో సిద్దిపేట బాలుర, బాలికల జూనియర్ కళాశాల విద్యార్థులకు మధ్యాహ్న భోజన పథకాన్ని ప్రారంభించారు. చిన్నకోడూరు మండలం గుర్రాలగొందిలో పలు అభివృద్ధి పనులకు శంకుస్థాపనలు, ప్రారంభోత్సవాలు చేశారు. ఆయా సమావేశాల్లో మంత్రి హరీశ్‌రావు మాట్లాడుతూ.. రైతుల నుంచి కందుల కొనుగోలుకు రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా 106 కేంద్రాలను ఏర్పాటుచేశామని చెప్పారు. గత ఏడాది 95 కేంద్రాల ద్వారా రూ.1030 కోట్లతో 21 లక్షల టన్నుల కందులను కొనుగోలు చేశామని తెలిపారు.

ఈ సారి మరో 11 కేంద్రాలను అదనంగా ప్రారంభిస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు. సిద్దిపేట జిల్లాలో రూ.62 కోట్ల కందులు కొనుగోలు చేశామని వెల్లడించారు. కనీస మద్దతు ధర క్వింటాల్‌కు రూ.5,450 అందిస్తున్నట్టు మంత్రి తెలిపారు. మార్కెట్‌కు ధాన్యం తీసుకొచ్చిన రైతు కేవలం అన్‌లోడింగ్ చార్జీలే చెల్లించాలని, మిగతా ఎలాంటి చార్జీలు చెల్లించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని స్పష్టంచేశారు. మార్కెటింగ్‌శాఖ ఆధ్వర్యంలో మహారాష్ట్ర, కర్ణాటక, గుజరాత్, హర్యానా, మధ్యప్రదేశ్ రాష్ర్టాలకు నాలు గు బృందాలు పంపామని తెలిపారు. రైతులకు రూ.4 వేల పెట్టుబడిని ఇచ్చేందుకు క్యాబినెట్ సబ్‌కమిటీ సమావేశమైందని, త్వరలో నివేదికను సీఎం కేసీఆర్‌కు అందజేస్తామని పేర్కొన్నారు. మార్కెటింగ్‌శాఖ కొనుగోళ్లలో పారదర్శకత తీసుకురావడానికి ఈ -నామ్ విధానాన్ని మరింత పటిష్ఠంగా అమలుచేయనున్నట్టు చెప్పారు. దీని ద్వారా రైతులకు, ట్రేడర్లకు లాభం చేకూరుతుందని అన్నారు. రాష్ట్రంలో కొత్తగా 30 మార్కెట్లు చేశామని పేర్కొన్నారు. కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టులో భాగంగా నిర్మాణమవుతున్న అంతగిరి రిజర్వాయర్ పనులను మార్చిలోగా పూర్తిచేయాలని సంబంధిత అధికారులకు, ఏజెన్సీలను మంత్రి హరీశ్‌రావు ఆదేశించారు.

సిద్దిపేట బాలికల, బాలుర జూనియర్ కళాశాల విద్యార్థుల కోసం తన సొంత ఖర్చులతో మధ్యాహ్న భోజన పథకాన్ని మంగళవారం మంత్రి హరీశ్‌రావు ప్రారంభించారు. ఈ పథకం ప్రారంభంతో రెండు కళాశాలల్లో 650 మంది విద్యార్థులకు ప్రయోజనం కలుగనున్నది. తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం వచ్చాక సీఎం కేసీఆర్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో ప్రభుత్వ పాఠశాలలు, కళాశాలలు బలోపేతమయ్యాయని మంత్రి చెప్పారు. రాష్ట్రంలో జూనియర్ కళాశాలల భవనాలకు రూ.200 కోట్లు మంజూరు చేసినట్టు తెలిపారు.

తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రంలో ఒక్క ఎకరా కూడా మిగలకుండా మొత్తం వ్యవసాయ యోగ్య భూమికి సాగునీటి వసతి కల్పించే లక్ష్యంతో సాగునీటి ప్రాజెక్టుల రూపకల్పన చేస్తున్నట్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ కె. చంద్రశేఖర్ రావు పేర్కొన్నారు. గత రెండు రోజులుగా అధికారులు, ప్రజా ప్రతినిధులతో కలిసి రెండు హెలికాప్టర్లలో పర్యటిస్తూ తెలంగాణకు వరప్రదాయిని అయిన కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్ట్ బ్యారేజీలు, పంప్ హౌజ్ లు, కాలువల నిర్మాణాలను పరిశీలిస్తున్న ముఖ్యమంత్రి, ఇవాళ జగిత్యాల జిల్లా మల్యాల మండలం, రాంపూర్ – పోతారం పంప్ హౌజ్ పనులను పరిశీలించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా పంప్ హౌజ్ పనులు జరుగుతున్న తీరును సీఎం కేసీఆర్ ఇరిగేషన్ అధికారులను, కాంట్రాక్ట్ ఏజెన్సీలను లోతుగా అడిగి తెలుసుకున్నారు. పంప్ హౌజ్ స్థలం వద్ద అధికారులు, ప్రజా ప్రతినిధులతో సమీక్ష నిర్వహించారు. తెలంగాణలో రైతులు ఇక భవిష్యత్ లో వర్షానికి ఎదురుచూసే పరిస్థితి ఉండకుండా సాగునీటి ప్రాజెక్టులతో ప్రతి ఎకరాకు నీరందించే విధంగా ప్రణాళిక రూపొందించాలని ఇరిగేషన్ మంత్రి శ్రీ టి. హరీశ్ రావును, అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు.
రోహిణి కార్తెలోనే నాట్లు పడే విధంగా ఉండాలని సీఎం కేసీఆర్ చెప్పారు. డిసెంబర్ – మార్చి లోపే యాసంగి పంటల ప్రక్రియ పూర్తి అయ్యే విధంగా రైతులకు సాగునీటిని అందించేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు చేయాలని సూచించారు.
కాళేశ్వరం ప్రాజెక్టులోని పంప్ హౌజ్ లు అన్ని పూర్తి కాగానే వచ్చే జూన్ నుండి గోదావరి బేసిన్ లోని అన్ని జిల్లాల్లో ఉన్న చెరువులు, కుంటలు అన్నింటినీ యుద్ధ ప్రాతిపదికన నింపడానికి అధికారులు సిద్ధంగా ఉండాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి సూచించారు. ఎక్కడ కూడా సాగునీరు అందని భూములు లేకుండా ఉండేలా గోదావరి బేసిన్ లోని నదులు, కాల్వలు అన్నిటిపై చెక్ డ్యాంలు ఏర్పాటు చేయడానికి ఎస్టిమేట్స్ రూపొందించాలని అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు.
మానేరు నదిలో నాలుగు నుండి అయిదు, మూలవాగు నదిలో రెండు నుండి మూడు వరకు ఇంకా అవసరం అనుకున్న ప్రతిచోట చెక్ డ్యాం ల నిర్మాణానికి ప్రణాళిక తయారు చేయాలని సీఎం కేసీఆర్ సూచించారు. ముందుగా దీనికి అవసరమయ్యే సర్వే చేయాలని ఆదేశించారు.
దేవాదుల నుండి వరంగల్ జిల్లా మొదలుకొని తుంగతుర్తి, సూర్యాపేట, కోదాడ వరకు సాగునీటిని అందించే విధంగా చూడాలని సీఎం చెప్పారు. వ్యవసాయం తరువాత అతిపెద్ద వ్యాపారంగా చేపల పెంపకం నిలుస్తుందని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.

వంద శాతం భూ రికార్డుల ప్రక్షాళన పూర్తియిన జిల్లాగా జగిత్యాల

తెలంగాణ భూ సర్వే కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా జగిత్యాల జిల్లాలో వంద శాతం భూ సర్వే ను పూర్తి చేసినట్లు జిల్లా కలెక్టర్ శరత్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కేసీఆర్ కు వివరించారు. జిల్లాలోని 18 మండలాల్లో 291 గ్రామాల్లోని భూ రికార్డులను సవరించినట్లు తెలిపారు, వివాద రహితమైన 99.18 శాతం భూములను పార్ట్-ఎ భూములుగా నిర్ధారించినట్లు చెప్పారు.
4,52,920 తప్పులను సవరించి రికార్డుల శుద్ధీకరణ చేపట్టినట్లు కలెక్టర్ శరత్ వివరించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా మల్యాల మండలం రాంపూర్ గ్రామ భూముల వివరాలు, నక్షలు, మ్యాప్ లతో రూపొందించిన చేతిరాత పహాణిని ముఖ్యమంత్రి కేసీఆర్ ఆవిష్కరించారు. భూ రికార్డుల ప్రక్షాళన 100 శాతం పూర్తి చేసినందుకు సీఎం కేసీఆర్ కలెక్టర్ శరత్ ను, రెవిన్యూ అధికారులను అభినందించారు.

The Minister for Scheduled Caste Development, G Jagadish Reddy, on Wednesday distributed laptops to 24 students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) who had secured admission into IITs, NITs and other prestigious institutions in the last academic year.

The Minister also announced a cash incentive of Rs 50,000 to students who joined IITs and Rs 40,000 to students of NITs and other prominent academic institutions

Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao, who completed his three-day inspection of Kaleshwaram project works on Wednesday, said that nearly 96 per cent of the land acquisition for the project was completed.

Talking to media persons at Medigadda, he said the process for acquisition of remaining four per cent lands would be completed in the next few days. He expressed happiness over the work progress on different packages of Kaleshwaram project and said the project works would be completed well on time to provide irrigation water to the ayacut by June next

The 1 Electronic Mechanical Engineers (EME) Centre at Bolarum has emerged as an ideal platform for the Army soldiers to excel and lead in defence services as a technical expert.
Established on April 3, 1947, the Centre deals with subjects related to communication and engineering for which three separate departments were set up and they include Signals, Engineers and EME (Electronics and Mechanics)
Lieutenant Colonel Monica Sharma of the EME said the state-of-the-art laboratories and a pre-planned orientation programme are the specialized features of the Centre helping it in providing a quality tech-based knowledge
