New Delhi - The Jamia Millia Islamia Vice Chancellor Prpf. Mazhar Asif said the life and sacrifice of Hazrat imam Hussain (a.s) will inspire millions of people across the globe till the day of judgment he was speaking on the 1443rd Birth Anniversary of Imam Hussain (a.s.) held at Jamia Millia Islamia University New Delhi he said It is a matter of great honour and pride for Jamia Millia Islamia to commemorate the 1443rd birth anniversary of Imam Hussain (A.S.), a towering in human history whose life and sacrifice continue to illuminate the path of truth, justice, and moral courage. Today’s gathering is not merely a ceremonial observance but a moment of deep reflection on values that transcend time, religion, and geography.
Imam Hussain (a.s.) stands as an eternal symbol of resistance against and injustice. His stand at Karbala was not motivated by worldly ambition but by an unwavering commitment to and human dignity. He demonstrated that even in the face of overwhelming odds, one must never surrender one’s conscience. His sacrifice teaches us that ethical principles are more precious than life itself and that silence in the face of tyranny is a betrayal of humanity.
In the contemporary world, where societies are confronted with challenges of intolerance, violence, and moral uncertainty, the message of Imam Hussain (a.s) holds profound relevance. His life urges us to uphold compassion, patience, and courage, and to work actively for peace and social justice. For institutions of higher learning like Jamia Millia Islamia, his legacy aligns perfectly with our mission to produce enlightened citizens who are intellectually sound and morally upright.
