The BJP has requested LK Advani to contest the general election again from Gandhinagar in Narendra Modi's Gujarat, though he reportedly wanted to shift to Bhopal in Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Madhya Pradesh.

Sources said Sushma Swaraj will meet Mr Advani to convey the decision taken at a meeting of the party's election committee.

Rs 38 crore seized as witnesses record money flow.

It's raining cash in Andhra Pradesh as the politicians in the southern state have broken all previous records of using money power to bribe the voters.

Police have seized nearly Rs 38 crore unaccounted money in different instances during the ongoing search operations across the state since the Election Commission announced the schedule for simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and the state assembly. In addition to the cash, police have also seized about 20 kg gold and 121 kg silver.

During last 10 days, police seized Rs 38 crore in various parts of the state. According to state's chief electoral officer , Rs 36 crore was seized during the entire campaign period in 2009. "This shows money is playing a key role in the elections in Andhra Pradesh," he said.

: Some data deleted from flight simulator, says Malaysian minister

The Malaysian Transport Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, said that certain information has been deleted from the flight simulator which was recovered from the residence of pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

He added that forensic experts are working on retrieving the deleted data.

Hussein also said that the reports of sighting of Malaysian plane over Maldives are untrue.

Commenting on the background check of the crew and passengers, Hussein said that “no information of significance” has been found and that except Ukraine and Russia, all other countries have given the information.

Former leader Jagdambika Pal and popular stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of crucial Lok Sabha polls.

Describing Pal as a leader of high political standing, BJP chief said that his decision to join the BJP would go a long way in strengthening the party on the national stage.

“I welcome Jagdambika Pal and Raju Srivastav into the party,” Singh said on the occasion, adding, “Their entry will add strength to the party.”

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar countered Khurshid’s charge, saying Muslims and all other sections of the society left the riots behind in Gujarat.

"In desperation and frustration, Congress' Salman Khurshid is using such language which we condemn," he said on Wednesday. "They want to keep the issue alive because they have nothing else to talk about," he added.

10 days later, Thai military says it may have tracked jet.

Ten days after a Malaysian jetliner disappeared, Thailand's military said Tuesday it saw radar blips that might have been from the missing plane but didn't report it "because we did not pay attention to it."

Search crews from 26 countries, including Thailand, are looking for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which vanished early March 8 with 239 people aboard en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Frustration is growing among relatives of those on the plane at the lack of progress in the search.

Khurshid questions Modi clean chit: 'nursery kid with good marks can't be doctor'.

has targeted once again on the 2002 riots in his Gujarat, questioning a court's clean chit to him.

"I don't know who has given Modi a clean chit. A magistrate's court not summoning him is a big accomplishment for him. It is like a nursery child who gets good marks and thinks he has become a doctor" Mr Khurshid said, asserting that the case was far from over.

Will contest from Varanasi? BJP's Election poll panel to take decisions today.

BJP's Central Election Committee will meet here today to finalise the list of candidates for Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections.

A decision on the seats from where BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and senior leader L K Advani will contest in Gujarat is expected to be taken in the meeting.

'lost into radar black hole' may never be found, admit experts.

The ill-fated Malaysian Airline Flight MH370 might never be found after getting lost into a 'radar black hole,' experts have revealed.

Civil aviation experts in the US believe that the plane carrying 239 people onboard could have vanished for ever if it was hit by fire, a bomb, hijack or catastrophic decompression and swallowed up in millions of square miles of ocean.

However, Congressman Mike Rogers said that accepting that the Flight MH370 might never be found was likely to become a whole new window of this investigation and it might lead to the biggest dead end of all that the plane is at the bottom of the Indian Ocean.

The Flight MH370 disappeared from civilian radar on March 8th just 40 minutes after take off from Kuala Lumpur enroute to Beijing.

Clean chit to in 2002 riots challenged in Gujarat HC by .

A few days after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi questioned 'clean chit' to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in 2002 riots fresh trouble seems to be brewing for the Gujarat chief minister. A 2002 riot victim Zakia Jafri has challenged 'clean chit' to Modi and 59 others in the Gujarat High Court.

Zakia has filed a Criminal Revision Application before the Gujarat High Court challenging the December 2013 verdict of a magisterial court in Ahmedabad rejecting her protest petition seeking to arraign Modi and 59 others on charges including criminal conspiracy, mass murder, arson, tampering with evidence with regard to the post-Gohdra riots in Gujarat that had claimed over 1,000 lives over a decade ago. The petition is likely to come up for hearing on March 20.
