AN INTRO. {{ AFSHAN JABEEN _ FATIMA BEE }}

Born - 17th September.
Completed her M.A. from Osmania University in 1976.

Born in Hyderabad in the family of a broadcaster, she herself has become a well known figure for the listeners of All India Radio Urdu programmes. Her father Late Syed Shuja Ahmed was an announcer in AIR, Hyderabad. He wrote and presented several plays which brought him laurels. He was really a great man and what made him great in his field was the sincerity, the wisdom of his sentimentalism, the philosophy of his hope and an unerring sense of radio requirements. He died in 1968. Afshan Jabeen's mother Late Sarwar Fatima was a lady of extraordinary courage and will power, who under so many odds and difficulties brought her daughter up. Afshan Jabeen is a very famous voice today and the credit goes to the sacrifices and hard struggles of her mother. She died in 2012. Sarwar Fatima gave her daughter the consciousness of competence and today Afshan Jabeen knows it well that the brightest talent can be dimmed momentarily if this consciousness of competence is lost. She believes that the mind is everything, "what you think, you become" if you are weak and defeated, the reason may well be that you have allowed failure to dominate your thoughts, creating a deep unconscious belief that you do not have the ability to succeed, but a strong person has a mind unclouded by gloom and Afshan Jabeen has the ability always to see a c***k of light in any darkness, however black. She knows the simplest thing about all facts of life that is "keep going, no matter what".

Afshan Jabeen started her career as a casual Yuvavani Announcer at AIR, Hyderabad in 1975, and in the same year she was auditioned as the Urdu Drama Voice and now she is an A-Grade Drama Voice of All India Radio, Hyderabad.
In 1976, she was appointed as Administrative staff for Urdu and since then she is taking part in programmes apart from her official duties at AIR. She has a lot of contribution in the programme production, planning and presentation, along with her participation as an Actor, Announcer, Drama voice, Writer and Interviewer.
Afshan Jabeen is known as one of the most popular Drama Artistes of All India Radio, Hyderabad since last 39 years. To her credit she has more than 800 Features and more than 1000 Dramas as the main lead presented at AIR, Hyderabad and have produced and presented 6 classical novels UMRAO JAAN ADA, TAUBA-TUL-NUSUH, IBN-UL-WAQT, SHIKAST, QAATIL & PREM CHAND'S GAUDAAN in the most popular programme Novelon ki Duniya. Each of this novel was read and dramatized by Afshan Jabeen herself along with other drama artistes. She has written and presented Talks, Monologues and Special Announcements for special audience programmes as well.

She acted in many Stage plays, Television daily soaps as well as in many Bollywood Movies.
In 'Choti Choti Baten' Afshan Jabeen played one of the most important and most popular character 'Fatima Bee' which was very close to the heart of listeners in the past and even today the listeners of AIR refer her as Fatima Bee. The dialogue of Fatima Bee "Aadaab Mahboob Bhai" which was delivered in all episodes of Choti Choti Baten was very famous back then.

Retired from her office in the year 2012. Joined again as a casual consultant & still giving her services for Urdu as a programme secretary in All India Radio, Hyderabad since then.

AN INTRO. {{ ASLAM FARSHORI _ LALA BHAI }}

Born - 8th July, 1949.
Aslam Farshori is a very popular name in Urdu Media and a household name in Hyderabad due to his popularity as Lala Bhai in the late 70's for 'Choti Choti Baten' and Mirzaji in the 90's for 'Mirzaji Ka Deewankhana'. These shows had more ratings than most of the TV shows in those days. Aslam Farshori is also one of the lead compere for All India Mushairas and has also compered international Mushairas. He has been the host for Mushairas with big names like Ahmed Faraz, Kaifi Azmi, Bashir Badr, Nawaaz Deobandi, Nida Fazli and many other popular urdu poets. Born to a family of Aristocrats Aslam Farshori's interest in Urdu started at a very early age as he remembers watching and listening to some of the most notable Urdu poets in his Uncle Allama Hairat Badauni's House where legendary poets like Josh Malihabadi, Faani Badauni, Ale Ahmed Saroor and many other notable poets used to often visit.

Graduated from Anwar-ul-Uloom College in 1971. Actively participated in student movement in the capacity of President & General Secretary of the students union for three consecutive years. Represented Osmania University in All India Inter College debating competition for three years from 1968 & won. In the year 1968-69 he was the editor of college magazine. In N.C.C. he was senior under officer and got the highest certificate i.e. B & C in the same capacity. He then completed his M.A. from Osmania University.

Aslam Farshori's stage & radio life started at the age of six. He became a casual artist of All India Radio, Hyderabad in the year 1955 and became a permanent staff artist in 1974. As years went by he became the Programme executive of Urdu at A.I.R, Hyderabad. After getting transferred to Gulbarga and working for a couple of years over there, he voluntarily retired from A.I.R. and joined ETV Urdu as the Channel Head in the year 2000 & the channel was launched under his supervision. He left ETV Urdu and joined IK Events & Media Management a London based company in the year 2003 & is working as the Managing Director for the company since then.

Aslam Farshori practices one important credo in his life, "Make a strong personal contact with everyone you meet". An ability & credo which is one of the greatest gifts of God. He believes that no one can hope to win by standing still, he believes in vision because it is not technique but vision that creates art, he goes into the minute details of every thing before attending to it. His wonderful power of seeing the world in his own unique way is what gives him his original artistic style. He has achieved the self-knowledge that is the key to self control, he is an extremely ambitious man with perfectionist tendencies, Therefore the struggle for a better life has become a never ending routine for him. Like most men in the public eye, he is instinctively an actor. His word, his will and even his very glance is a thought provoking action. Sometimes his name is Dr. Kareemullah, some times Gopal Sharma or Albert or Mirzaji or Lala Bhai....etc. Whatever his name is, he maintains his individuality and his original form. He also has the mysterious thing known as projection; the ability to beam his physical & vocal personality direct from the Radio, Television, Silver screen or whatever medium it may be to the audience. He has many Movies, Daily Soaps, Stage & Radio Drama, Plays to his credit.

While working for the IK London, he has always held on to his love for poetry & now he is a full-time poet, he is into Naatiya & Ghazal Poetry & is usually travelling the world attending International Mushairas.

AN INTRO. {{ MIR JAFFER ALI KHAN _ MAHBOOB BHAI }}

Born - 8th September, 1944.
Died - 17th June, 2020
Completed his B.A. from Nizam College, Hyderabad in 1966. He was a very active student during his school & college life in extra-curricular activities like essay writing, debating competitions, games & sports. He started writing short stories & plays for Radio & Stage from his college life.
He was the first person to introduce Dakhni language in the famous drama 'Adrak ke Panje', he played the main lead in it. Today whatever we see & hear on stage & Films in Dakhni language, it is all due to Mir Jaffer Ali Khan's earlier contribution.

By middle age we carry in our heads a tremendous catalog of things we have no intention of trying again because we tried them & failed. Also we tend to avoid things we have never tried. such fear of failure prevents exploration & experimentation and assures the progressive narrowing of a personality but Mir Jaffer Ali Khan's case is different even failure cannot stop him from achieving his target. He has the vigour & determination to achieve anything in life.
The most amusing thing about his personality is that he looks a bit hard person, but from his heart he is soft, sensitive, very practical & full of wits & humor. He is brilliant and witty because whatever he thinks he says it at the right time. It is purely a question of learning to speed up our brain turnover. Its like sometimes the repartee can be deadlier than the sword.
He has never denied the gregariousness of a man, or belittle our pleasures in each other's company.
Mir Jaffer Ali Khan knows this fully well that in our world we are not likely to be without causes of fear. But by learning to distinguish among them, by applying intelligence and good judgement, we can succeed in living wisely with our fears, knowing when they can be shared with others and when with maturity & courage, we must face them alone. He does possess this ability.

He acted in many Stage plays, Television daily soaps as well as in many Tollywood & Bollywood Movies. And also written, produced directed & acted in many Radio plays.
He joined All India Radio, Hyderabad as a casual artist in 1970 and then became a permanent production assistant & announcer in 1974. In 1991 he got promoted as a programme executive and was even transferred to Adilabad district,
In 'Choti Choti Baten' he played the character of Mahboob Bhai, he used to arrive on scene to give the daily dose of information on government schemes & information related to the common man.

Retired in the year 2001. Joined again as an Urdu consultant and gave his services till the year 2017 as a programme Executive in All India Radio, Hyderabad.
