HIMALAYAN TSUNAMI 🔥 Nepal Flash Floods..! నేపాల్ ప్లాష్ ఫ్లడ్స్ .. హిమాలయ సునామీ డేంజర్ లో | MG Rao | New Waves
A catastrophic flash flood and landslide disaster struck the Nepal–Tibet border on August 26, 2026, after a massive ice-rock avalanche and glacier collapse triggered a destructive surge through Himalayan valleys.
The disaster severely affected Nepal's Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, with floodwaters carrying huge quantities of mud, rocks and debris through river valleys. Roads, bridges, homes and critical infrastructure were destroyed, while rescue teams continue searching for missing people.
In this video, MG Rao analyses the Himalayan disaster and the possibility of more dangerous cascading events.
Satellite analysis indicates that a substantial section of glacier and surrounding rock collapsed at high altitude, sending ice, rock and sediment into the river system. The resulting cascade produced an exceptionally destructive flood wave.
Scientists are also examining whether a temporary natural dam formed by debris amplified the flood before subsequently releasing water downstream.
The disaster highlights growing concerns about glacier instability, permafrost degradation, landslides and extreme Himalayan hazards in a warming climate. Experts say climate change is increasing conditions that can destabilise high-altitude ice and rock.
Important: “Himalayan Tsunami” is a descriptive media term, not a scientific classification of the event. The disaster is currently understood as a catastrophic flash flood associated with a glacier/ice-rock collapse and cascading debris processes. The exact sequence and contribution of each mechanism remain under investigation.
