Security forces arrested 02 (two) persons near CMC Hospital, Koirengei namely:-
i) Purna Bahadur Karke (40) of Kanglatongbi Hatik Khuwa (he was serving as VDF in Kangpokpi district) and
ii) Lovingson (37) of Kanglatongbi Santipur.
From their possession, 1.425 kg of suspected Brown Sugar (including carry bag weight) and 01 (one) Honda Activa were seized.

Manipur Police apprehended 04 (four) persons from different location within the Imphal City area for selling liquor illegally namely,
i. Polem Diamond Singh (30) of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai.
ii. Moirangthem Dingku Singh (26) of Moirang Sendra.
iii. Moirangthem Lalhaiba (33) of Bamon Leikai.
iv. Laishram Romesh Singh (43) of Sugnu Napat Mayai Leikai.

Shri Mukesh Singh, IPS, assumed charge as the Director General of Police, Manipur, today. Upon his arrival at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), Mantripukhri, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by Manipur Police.

Following the ceremonial reception, the DGP held a brief introductory meeting with senior police officers. He discussed key policing priorities and emphasised the importance of professionalism, upholding the Constitution of India and the Rule of Law, coordination with Sister Agencies, and impartiality and neutrality in the discharge of duties to the public.
