Court allow to formally arrest
12 women accused in viral case after remanded 15 days for Judicial custody.
Manipur Police also registered an FIR under Sections 319, 321 and 323 (causing of hurt), 340 (wrongful confinement), 350 (criminal force), 351 (assault), 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour a person),503 (criminal intimidation), 499 (defamation), 34 (Common intention)of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and 66 E of IT Act etc. in connection with a recent viral video case in various social media platforms where a women was slapped allegedly by a some members of Huyen Mamom.
The complainant /woman allegedly referred women’s group “Huyen Mamom” as “Lawai Nupi” which literally translates to “Village Women”. The complaint letter said "this statement was made completely unintentionally during a private conversation and only as a reaction to the derogatory statements made by Bonny Haobam"
