Joint team of Manipur Police and CRPF intercepted one 04-wheeler vehicle at Tupul bridge coming from Churachandpur towards Kangpokpi and seized 196 soap cases containing suspected he**in/ brown sugar weighing 2.193 kg excluding the case, from the vehicle.
Two occupants of the said vehicle namely (i) Ginminlen Haokip (24 years) of G. Phaibung, Motbung, Kangpokpi and (ii) Holminlen Khongsai (30 years) of Khangbarol village, Khangbarol, Chandel were arrested.
Further investigation follows.

Manipur Police raided the residential house of a known vehicle lifter, one Md. Hefajuddin @ Boboy (27) at Santhel Awang Leikai under Mayang Imphal-PS. Md. Hefajuddin fled from his house at the arrival of the police. Later, police recovered from his residence, 01 (one) Honda Activa 6G, regd. no. MN 06SF-9963, blue in colour.

The recovered two-wheeler was reportedly stolen from Thongju area, Imphal East district on 05.07.2025. The rightful owner of the vehicle has since been informed of the recovery and formal process for handing over of the same has been initiated.

Police are on the look-out for Md. Hefajuddin and efforts to arrest him are underway.

Manipur police arrested one Khumanthem Bikramjit Singh (43) of Kiyam Siphai Khundongbam Leikai, Thoubal district. The arrested person was supplying SIM cards to underground organisations including PREPAK (PRO). The SIM cards were then used by cadres of proscribed groups who were based in Myanmar to extort money from general public of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai, Thoubal district.
From his possession, the following items were seized:
i) 01 (one) Realme 9 Pro+ mobile handset along with 2(two) SIM cards,
ii) 85 (eighty-five) nos. of Vodafone SIM cards,
iii) 09 (nine) nos. of AIRTEL prepaid SIM cards,
iv) 04 (four) nos. of BSNL SIM cards,
v) 02 (two) nos. of AIRTEL postpaid SIM cards,
vi) 01 (one) no. of JIO SIM card
