BRIEF PERSONAL HISTORY:
I, Mr. Yumnam Chaoba Meitei, was born on 6 February 1957, as the first child among the 5 children of (L) Y. Amumacha & (L) Y. Ongbi Tombi, of Athokpam Maning Leikai, PO/PS Thoubal. Thoubal District, Manipur-795138.
As unhealthy growth since my childhood, I have strong senses or became as a research minded in Physical Exercises /Games & Sports and Religious, as well as about the Almighty/supreme God for worship, for the health/ betterment of our life.
I took part in the sporting events & religious functions, since my childhood (the indo-park war,1970-71). I am also a Manuscripts Custodian, recognized by Manipur State Archives ,Keisampat Imphal Manipur. I started my Martial Arts (Both Foreign Martial Arts & Indigenous Martial Arts) life since 1970-71 under, the S.S Manipur, during & after the indo park war.

1. 1979, H.S.L.C. Exam passed in 1979, at the Chaoyaima Hr. Sec. School, Thoubal Manipur.
2. 1985, B.A. passed in 1985, at the Thoubal College, Thoubal Manipur.
3. 1991, Degree in Physical Education passed in 1991 at the Regional College of Physical
Education, Panisagar, under the Tripura University.
1. 2003, I passed in A-Grade in the 6th week certificate course in Karate 2003-2004 under Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports Patiala.

1. THANG-TA (Traditional Manipuri unique martial arts)

In, 1970-71, My career in THANG-TA (the traditional Manipuri martial arts) started under the good guidance of (L) Yumnam Babu and his father (L) Yumnam Thabal Singh of Uripok Sobon Thingel Kabrabam Leikai Imphal West since 1970. Both of them are descendant/ closed Relative with as great Grandfather (L) Nongthombam Toyaima Singh Laiphamlakpa of Salam Mamang Leikai Imphal West. His father (L) Yumnam Thabal Singh, was served as a leader under (L) Nongthombam Toyaima Singh the leader of Pana Mari (4- District or section) in THANG-TA & MAIBA HANJABA in Pandit Loisang during the reign of his highness Maharaja Churachand Singh the king of Manipur till his highness of Maharaja Budhachandra Singh. Late Yumnam Thabal Singh was the son-in-law of (late) Nongthombam Toyaima Singh(LAIPHAM LAKPA). Y. Babu was also served with his Gurus during the last period of his highness MAHARAJA BUDHACHANDRA SINGH till the reign of the MAHARAJA OKENDRAJIT SINGH. Now he served as a KHOUSAREL ASUPPA under his highness MAHARAJA LEISEMBA SANAJAOBA, in Royal Palace Imphal.

2.SECOND GURU IN THANG-TA (IN SATJAL):

1980,I was a student & received training under a famous Guru (L) R.K. Sanahal Guneshwor Sana (a Royal family) the founder of Satjal of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai, Imphal, Manipur, P.O. Singjamei from 1980 till his death. He was born on 19-11-1901. he was established the MEITEI HUYEL LANGLOL (Satjal) training, Manipur & the Scientific Defense Cultural Society, Manipur, was a famous royel dynasty of king PAMHEIBA (Garibniwaz) and Queen Thambal (Gomati) of Manipur. He was matriculate from the Kolkotta University in 1924. I was also very closes related with him, during his last 10 years ago.

01/02/2023- Published MEITEI MAYEK LAIGI MAYEK, with the Original Scaned Scripts.

2017-I have published the book of SAGEI SALLAIROL (a Genealogy of differences groups Meitei in Manipur) by transcribing from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 01/07/2017, from my manuscript custody.
2017-I have published the book of MONGKHRANG (a Genealogy of differences groups Meitei in Manipur) by transcribing from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 01/07/2017, from my manuscript custody.

2017-I have published the book of KEIROI (a Genealogy of differences groups Meitei in Manipur) by transcribing from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 01/07/2017, from my manuscript custody.
2015-I have published the book of MEEYAT (a Chronicles type of history of MEITEI (Manipur) Kings) by transcribing from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 01/08/2015, from my manuscript
custody.

2014, I have re-printed for the 2nd publication of the book of ARIBA MEITEI YUMSHAROL (Construction of old type of Meitei house) by transcribe from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 15/8/2006 from my manuscript custody.

2012 I have re-print for the 2nd publication the book of KAKYEL NONGDAM NAHA ATHOUBA (a history of a great hero of LUWANG clans which included in the history of MOIRANG clans) by transcribe from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 2/10/2010 from my manuscript custody.
2010, the National Mission of Manuscript, New Delhi & Manipur State Achieve. Manipur Research Centre, Keishampat, Imphal Was Awarded the Certificate of Honor as A Manuscripts Custodian on 10th September 2010.
2010, I attended 5 days national workshop on preventive conservation of manuscript organized by National Mission of Manuscript, Ministry of Culture. Govt. of India & Manipur from 20th to 24th October 2010.

2010 I have published the book of KAKYEL NONGDAM NAHA ATHOUBA (a history of a great hero of LUWANG clans which included in the history of MOIRANG clans) by transcribe from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 2/10/2010 from my manuscript custody.

2010, I attended 5 days national workshop on problems in conservation of different manuscripts in Manipur, suggestions & remedies organized by national mission of manuscript, Ministry Of Culture, Govt. of India and Manipur State Archives Manuscripts from 16-20 February 2010.
2009, I have published the book of TAIBANG LANGLOL (about revolution human being) by transcribe from the Meitei archaic original scripts/letter to the Bengali script on 17/8/2009 from my manuscript custody.
2008, I have attended the national workshop on Manuscriptlogy & Paleography was held organized by national mission of manuscript ministry of culture, Govt. of India & Manipur State Archives Manuscripts resource Centre, Manipur from 24th November 13th December 2008.

2007, I have published the book of KOROU NONGLOL (a study on movements or forms the clouds, stars, sun, moon, sounds & earth) by transcribe the Meitei to the Bengali script on 23/7/2007 from my manuscript custody.
2006, I have published the book of ARIBA MEITEI YUMSHAROL (With 4rd Editions) construction of old type of Meitei house by transcribe the Meitei to the Bengali script on 15/8/2006 from my manuscript custody.

E. KARATE:
1. 1983, I was awarded 1st Dan In Karate Budokan International Under Mr. Chew Choo Soot K.L. Malaysia, through (L) L.Tomba Singh the 1st KBI founder in Northeastern India.
2. 1985, Gold Medalist in 1985. the All-India Karate Budokan International open championship, in the event of the black belt open free sparing full contact at Lal Bahadur stadium, Hyderabad.
3. 1986, Gold medalist in 1986, in Northeast India KBI open championship, black belt weapons open competition, at Indoor Stadium, Imphal.
4. 1996, Black Belt 1st Dan in famous Karate style, the Wado-Kai FAJKO under Mr. Toru Arakawa, Japan Karate Do Federation, Headquarters of Wado-Kai Japan, in 1996, 27th January.
10. 1998, I appointed as a Wado-Kai Karate representative of India in recommended by Headquarters of Wado-Kai Japan.
13. 1999, Participated in the Wado-Kai Karate-Do World Cup 1999 At Tokyo Japan as a sole team for India.
18. 2003, I, engaged as a Karate Coach in the all-India 6th week Karate certificate course in sports coaching 2003 - 2004 from 16-5-2003 to 25-6-2003. under SAI NERC Imphal Manipur.
19. 2003, I passed in a grade in the 6th week certificate course in Karate 2003-2004 SAI NETAJI SUBHAS National Institute of Sports Patiala.

23. 2005, Participated Wado-Kai World Karate-Do Cup 2005 as the sole Indian Team Coach cm Competitor in Men's KATA was held from 17 to 22 August 2005 at Nippon Budokan Tokyo Japan and Graded direct H/Qtrs. Ni-dan.
24. 2006, Awarded the Wado-Kai Head of style in 1st time in Northeast India in the year 2006 at Koramangalam indoor stadium, Bangalore and established the Wado-Kai Karate-Do Federation of India.
26.2010, I organized 1st national level residential Karate (Wadokai) coaching camp for new rules at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal, Manipur from 4th to 11th May 2010 under the guidance Shihan Yoshaki Ajari from USA sponsored by NEC, Shillong.
28. 2010, Participated Wado-kai Karate Do World Cup at Nagoya City, Japan from 13 to 16th August 2010 as Indian team coach cm participant.

31. 2012, Received the Roku-Dan (Black Belt 6th Dan) under The Shihan GARY E SWIFT of the
International Wado Federation England On 24th September 2012.

1. 1979, I organized and practiced under the guidance Sensei, Chandra Singh ,1st Northeast Judo N.I.S. Coach Since 1978 and Established Judo in Thoubal district in 1979.
G. TAEKWONDO:1. 1981, I practiced the Taekwondo under Oja Nameirakpam Nilakantan Yumnam Leikai Imphal the 1st Northeastern Taekwondo founder from 1981 to 1982.
H. ATHLETIC:
1. 1980, 3rd Manipur state level athletic meet, 1980, 3rd place in 3,000 meters. Race.
2. 1981, 4th Manipur state level athletic meet 1981, 2nd place in 3,000 meters. Race.

BRIEF HISTORY:
Oja, YUMNAM BABU/CHAOBA, was born on the 11-th July 1947, as the 3rd Child among the 6th children of (Late) YUMNAM THABAL and (Late) YUMNAM ONGBI KEINA, at URIPOK SORBON THINGEL KABRAMBAM LEIKAI, P.O./P. S IMPHAL.IMPHAL DISTRICT, MANIPUR.795001.
He took part in the Sporting events in the school as well as in the local Sports meets. TANG-TA (Traditional Manipuri Unique Martial Arts) & other Co-Curricular Activities in Culture:
In 1966-67, I was participated in the NATIONAL PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India and Awarded the “THREE STAR “title.
Career in THANG-TA (The Traditional Manipuri Unique Martial Arts) started under the good guidance of both his Father (L) YUMNAM THABAL and His great Grandfather (L) NONGTHOMBAM TOYAIMA, who was as LAIPHAM LAKPA, in Royal Palace Imphal Manipur.
Both of them were served under the court of His highness MAHARAJA CHURACHAND till MAHARAJA BUDHACHANDRA was the King of MANIPUR.
(L) YUMNAM THABAL, was served as a leader under (L) NONGTHOMBAM TOYAIMA the leader of PANA MARI (4- District or section) in THANG-TA & MAIBA HANJABA IN PANDIT LOISANG during the reign of his Highness MAHARAJA CHURACHAND which was the King of MANIPUR & continued during his highness of MAHARAJA BUDHACHANDRA. Late NONGTHOMBAM TOYAIMA (LAIPHAM LAKPA is found his name in CHEITHAROL KUMPUBA the Chronicle Book written by Meitei Archaic of Manipur) of Salam Mamang Leikai, Imphal West, Manipur.
Late YUMNAM THABAL was a closed relative as the Son-In-Law of (Late) NONGTHOMBAM TOYAIMA (LAIPHAM LAKPA). He was served as a leader of the PANA MARI (4 District or section) during the reign of his highness of MAHARAJA CHURACHAND until his highness MAHARAJA OKENDRAJIT SING in his early period.
In the last, period, (before 6 - 7 years ago) of death his highness MAHARAJA BUDHACHANDRA and was served, as a leader of the PANA MARI (4 District or section) during reign his highness MAHARAJA OKENDRAJIT, with my grandfather/Gurus.
In the year my 11-years, Under the guidance of my GURU, I was serving & performed the TA KHOUSABA & THANGLON HAIBA in SANA KONUNG (Royal Palace) & KWAK TANBA a ceremonial function.
He was an active founder member to establish the All-Manipur Judo & Karate Association or the JU-KA Academy which was established in 1976 and its Head Office was at old Palace Gate and Training at Durbar Hall in the Palace Imphal. I was practiced Karate or UAC, during my serviced under SSB department.
Now, at present, I am serving as a THANG-SHU-HANBA (Defense Minister) as well as KHOUSAREL ASUPPA under his Highness MAHARAJA (KING) LEISEMBA SANAJAOBA in SANA KONUNG (ROYAL PALACE) IMPHAL MANIPUR.

He was dedicating in THANG-TA & Meitei Traditional Culture under His Highness MAHARAJA LEISEMBA SANAJAOBA, as the THANG-SHU-HANBA (Defense Minister) as well as KHOUSAREL ASUPPA SUPNA PANA MARI (A Title/Post in the Royal Palace Imphal Manipur) & Advisory Board Member, APUNBA THANG-TA LUP(ATTAL) in SANA KONUNG IMPHAL.

BRIEF STORIES OF MEITEI THANG–TA & THENGOULON (MANIPURI UNIQUE MARTIAL ARTS & SPIRITUAL WAR). According to MEITEI PUYAS.
Though small size and population of our state MEITRABAK (Manipur) has enough history of its own originality having sufficient Culture and Traditional like other countries of the world.
All the Cultures and Traditions of the human beings & others are originated from the concept of the creations of the Earth and the Universe by LEISEM THENGOU, which was clearly written in our PUYAS (epics). Moreover, it was written in the Meitei Scripts (Manipuri) that the Almighty alone was there before so many years ago of the Universe, called as ATING-NGA/TINGAKOK SHIDABA (Empty or Hollow, nothing else was there) (SHIDABA=Immortals or Longevity) as a whitish rounded elements but could not found out His accurate physical features for so many years.
After then, the Almighty was called as ATING-NGA/TINGAKOK SHIDABA and His Physical appearance was Masculine in the frontal side & in Feminine in backside appearance as a multi-physical appearance as known as TAIBANG-PANBA/TENG-PANBA MAPU (the Lord of Universe). He Always Teenager like as human being so long ago the Universe.
He Divided His Body into two portions called as SHIDABA & SHIDABI (God & Goddess) to Produce the Universe.
The Almighty was changed His name as ASHEEBA (By doing orders or the Creator) displayed an unique form while playing LEISHEM THENGKOU (Spiritual dances which was the creation of Universe & Earth) without any kind weapons but by only physical gestures (the origin movements of Manipuri CHATKOI or JAGOI (all kinds of Dances) PUNG ( Leg & Foot movements of Mridanga) THANG-TA(sword & Spear and others) four billion years ago, which was later corroborated and confirmed by the modern geologist, scientist and other experts who have come to a reliable conclusion that the Earth has come into existence a billion years.
The Almighty took different shapes I. e. LAI-PHAMTHOU MAPAL (9-Divine Gods) LAI-NURA TARET (&-7-Divine Goddess) in the good forms and other hand, it was formed the SHALOI & TINKAM LAIKAM (the Giants/ Giantess & other unidentified shapes were formed automatically from His sweat while creating the Universe by playing LEISHEM THENGKOU. As Tradition the number 7/9 happens to be a very significant digits in Meitei (Manipuri) society to do any activities.
At last, the ATIYA SIDABA or ASHEEBA (the Creator) created the Human beings from His own image, after the creation of all the living & Un-living, Seen & Unseen, and Hearing & Unhearing being things in the Universe.
It is said that, according to Meitei PUYAS (puranas) were same processes to creation Earth or Universe and the creation of Human being & other creatures (Revolution of human being).
After that, the Almighty wishes to invent weapons of various forms / kinds to be used by human beings for their protection and other services.
According to THANGLON THANGCHAT PUYA (a holy book written by Meitei archaic) it has clearly mentioned that the weapons were made out of the Skeleton parts of the TEEN SIDABA which was known as ASHEEBA or ATIYA SIDABA( the creator of the Universe ) i.e. the SHINGJANG & YOTPAK ( Axe & Spade) from the shape of His MAYA ( teethes), : KABAK THANG (a board & thin long Sword )from the shape of MANAK ACHOUBA(upper side rib cage)which known as NAIKUPLEL PHIROK THANG:, the THANG-SANG MAYI NAIBA(Long tracking kinds of sword) from the shape of NAKLU MOIPHANGTON(Lower side rib cage) which known as MAPA-THANG KONG-EBA.
Both the above-mentioned types of swords were used by the PASHA or PATHAN (Muslims) & Western Countries.
The TEM SHABA KABO LEITENG MANBA (pointed long straight kinds of Sword) from the shape of His MITKI PA (Eyelash): the PUKAP or PUKPHAT THANG HAITARANGBA (A small knife which was used for abortions of child) from the shape of His MAREI(Tongues) and also blessed to the domestic and wild animals as its horns, teeth, jaws, nails for their survivals. The TARUNG THANG (a straight long type sword) & used in KABO (MAYANMAR) from His YETKI PAMBOM SARU (right Arm bones); THANG-CHOU ( a board & big kinds of sword)from His CHAKOT (shoulder plate) :, the KABO THANG KOIREMBA(a kind of sword which used in KABO or MYANMAR) from the shape of His MASHENGTOU(Vulvae, the part of female s*x organ which are outside of body, between the leg):, the SANGAI (a small & thick kinds of Knife with a long handle, which also was a origin history of the famous Manipuri SANGAI, the Manipuri Deer) from his CHANGCHOU KHUTPHANGTOL (Little Finger):, the HAICHRANG (Knifes or Suri)from the shape of NAKLU MOIPHANGTOL APISHA (a lower side rib cage):, KHANGSU-TA (a automatic folding kinds of spear which used in the spiritual Dances)from the shape of His YUPANG(pen*s).
Similarly, in KURUM PUYA(Puranas) the shape of the TA & TEN-CHEI (Spears & Arrows) were taken from shape of the Testicle of the Almighty which is called as TIMEN-TA (An automatic folding & lighting or spark type of Spear when it used). Therefore, another name of TA (spear) is TI-MEN in old Manipuri term. In addition, Sword was made out of the shape of the S*x (Va**na) of the SHIDABI (the supreme Goddess) which was called as THANG (A lighting kinds of sword like the Nuclear). So, afterwards, according to our PUYAS, TA (Spear) known as Male & THANG (Sword) known as female.
In addition, the sword made from the shape of the 3rd day’s moon of every month in the TAOROINAI YANGBI PUYA (Puranas) when the developed of knowledges by the earliest human being.
There was various Fighting methods and weapons i.e. types of THANG(swords), TA(spears), ARAMBAI(like the Arrow for throwing), TEN(Archery),KHONG-KANGCHEI (Wrestling cm Hockey) ,CHEI PHUNABA( Stick fighting),UTOOP(A big stick or Goda),KANGDREL( a kinds of short stick for throwing), CHUNG (a shield like the head of a animals, used with spears),CHUNGOI ( a shield like the full moon or circle, used with swords), NONGMEI (Guns),.SHAGOL KANGJEI( Ancient Polo),ESHING LALMI (Navy),KHONG LALMI(Infantry) , SHAGOL LALMI (Cavalries), MUKINA( Manipuri wrestling), SALIT-SALAK (self-defenses) etc. including a wonderful Hand & Leg or foot movements ,in the syllabus in THANG-TA The traditional Manipuri Martial Arts was developed from the Fist century during the reign of Emperor NONGTA-LAIREL PAKHANGBA till 1891 the Anglo-Manipuri war which was brought out during the reign of Maharaja Kulla Chandra , the king of Manipur & started the loss of Sovereignty of Manipur .
