Rising inflation has greatly added to the problems of the people of Sri Lanka. The prices of everyday food items are skyrocketing.

In Sri Lanka, 400 grams of milk is being received for Rs.790. 1 kg of rice has also now become 500 rupees. The people of the country are moving to India to avoid hunger and price rise. On Tuesday, around 16 Sri Lankan nationals reached India via the sea. One of the couples has come here with a 4-month-old baby.

People from Sri Lanka said, "Rice in our country has reached 500 Sri Lankan rupees per kilogram. 400 grams of milk powder is being received for Rs 790. The price of one kg of sugar has gone up to Rs 290.

According to experts, if this is the case, then a situation like the Civil War of 1989 can be created. Due to this, migration is expected to increase.

Sri Lanka, which is in debt to many countries including China, may be declared bankrupt. Sri Lanka's foreign exchange reserves fell 70 percent to $2.36 billion in January. On the other hand, Sri Lanka has to repay domestic and foreign debt of $ 7.3 billion (about Rs 54,000 crore) in the next 12 months. In this, about 68 percent of the total debt belongs to China. They have to pay 5 billion dollars to China.

India has extended a helping hand to Sri Lanka, which is suffering from the same serious financial threat. India has announced a loan of over $900 million to its neighbouring country. This will help the country to increase foreign exchange reserves and import food.

| Russian media regulator has announced that it is blocking Facebook in the country, saying that it had discriminated against Russian media and information resources.

Media reports said that the Russian websites of BBC and Deutsche Welle, Twitter, and Apple and Google's app stores were all blocked.

"In March 2022, a decision was made to block access to the Facebook network (owned by Meta Platforms, Inc.) in the Russian Federation," the Russian media regulator statement said.
Meta president Nick Clegg said the company was doing "everything we can to restore our services".

"We will continue to do everything we can to restore our services so they remain available to people to safely and securely express themselves and organize for action," Clegg said in a statement.

Earlier this week, Meta had restricted access to Russian media outlets like RT and Sputnik.
The security policy head of Facebook had said that the company is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine and will keep sharing steps they are taking to protect people on their platform.

On Monday, Twitter had said it would label and limit the reach of tweets linking to Russian state-affiliated news sources, and announced that it was temporarily suspending ads in Ukraine and Russia "to ensure critical public safety information is elevated."

Earlier this week, the US had accused Moscow of mounting "a full assault on media freedom and the truth" as officials there seek to "mislead and suppress" information about the war. (ANI)

A 94-year-old man was thrown out of a rented house by the landlord for not paying the rent. The old man had hardly any belongings except an old bed, some aluminum utensils, a plastic bucket and a mug etc. The old man requested the owner to give him some time to pay the rent. The neighbors also took pity on the old man, and they convinced the landlord to give him some time to pay the rent. The landlord reluctantly gave him some time to pay the rent.

The old man took his belongings inside.

A journalist passing by stopped and saw the whole scene. He thought it would be useful to publish the matter in his newspaper. He even thought up a headline, "Cruel landlord kicks old man out of rented house for money." Then he took some pictures of the old tenant and also took some pictures of the rented house.

The journalist went and told his press owner about the incident. The owner of the press looked at the pictures and was shocked. He asked the journalist, did he know the old man? The journalist said no.

The next day the big news appeared on the front page of the newspaper. The title was "Gulzarilal Nanda, the former Prime Minister of India, leading a miserable life". It was further written in the news that how the former Prime Minister was unable to pay the rent and how he was thrown out of the house. It was commented that nowadays freshers also earn a lot of money. Whereas a person who has been a former Prime Minister twice and has also been a Union Minister for a long time, does not even have a house of his own.

Actually Gulzarilal Nanda got Rs. 500/- per month allowance, .but he had rejected this money saying that he did not fight for the allowance of freedom fighters. Later friends forced him to accept saying that he had no other source of origin. With this money, he used to live by paying his rent.

The next day the then Prime Minister sent ministers and officials with a fleet of vehicles to their homes. The landlord was stunned to see the fleet of so many VIP vehicles. It was then that he came to know that his tenant, Mr. Gulzarilal Nanda was the former Prime Minister of India. The landlord immediately bowed down at the feet of Gulzarilal Nanda for his misbehavior.

Officials and VIPs requested Gulzarilal Nanda to accept government accommodation and other facilities. Mr. Gulzarilal Nanda did not accept his offer by saying that what is the use of such facilities in this old age. Till his last breath, he lived as a simple life, like an ordinary citizen. In 1997, the government honored him with the Bharat Ratna.

Gulzarilal Nanda BR was an Indian politician and economist who specialized in labour issues. He was the Interim Prime Minister of India for two 13-day stints following the deaths of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964 and Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966 respectively.
