On April 7, 2026, two children were killed and their mother was critically injured when a bomb, suspected to have been fired by Kuki militants, struck their house in Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Moirang, in Manipur's Bishnupur district.

The victims, a 5-year-old boy and his 5-month-old sister, were asleep when the projectile hit, triggering immense outrage.

The mother of the children worked as a nurse at Apollo Hospital in Guwahati, Assam.

AMPA & REST IN PEACE 🙏

Hon'ble Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand honour and Respect to Hon'ble (Late)Vungzagin Valte, Thalon AC MLA, Manipur .

He visited a sick Yumnam Khemchand, the current CM of Manipur, back in 2020.

About a week ago, on 8th February, CM Yumnam Khemchand also visited Mr. Valte, who was on his sickbed due to the injuries he sustained.

Hon'ble Vungzagin Valte has left this troubled world and departed for a more peaceful rest, after enduring much suffering in his final days on this earth.

Whatever their differences may have been, their actions have reminded us that humanity still exists.
