Children being kind with animals are our favourite kind of humans. 🤍
This is one such toddler–furry duo Janisa and Lucy. They love each other endlessly and annoy each other just as much. 😄

We did their second shoot this year, and it made our hearts so full to see how much stronger their bond has become. Though, staying close for the camera wasn’t easy — Janisa being a curious toddler was busy exploring the world, while Lucy was being her shy self. Every second was us gently requesting Janisa to come closer to her sister.

As we begin celebrating Indies Day today , what better way to start than with Lucy — rescued by her dad over 10 years ago and now the absolute heart of the family. 🐾❤️

As this year comes to an end, I find myself looking back at what truly shaped us. This is one of those years I know I will always remember.

One of the most defining moments was releasing our first-ever documentary. What once felt like a distant dream became real. Shooting it was emotionally hard in ways words still fail to hold, which is why I never spoke much about how it was made. Every time we picked up the camera at shelters, we didn’t just see dogs — we saw stories, broken hearts, and lives that had done nothing wrong. We cried while making and editing it, but we stayed with the process and made it come alive, honestly and gently.

As the year unfolded, we extended our boundaries beyond what we once imagined. Sniff Stories travelled beyond home and expanded to Singapore and Malaysia. I still remember reading messages from pet parents saying they had been following us for a while and couldn’t wait for their pets to experience a shoot with us. It may seem simple, but for us, being trusted across borders means everything.

Somewhere along the way, I paused and realised how far we had come. The girl who started Sniff Stories at 19 is 25 today. I still wonder what if I hadn’t started, what if I had listened to the doubts. But this little baby we’ve raised together found its way — through your love, your trust, and our belief in doing things with heart.

This year also brought us families who knew time wasn’t in their favour with their pets. They reached out, and we couldn’t say no. Those shoots were filled with tears, laughter, stories, warmth, and quiet comfort. Some of those babies are now in heaven, and we are deeply grateful that we could capture their stories with gentleness — something their families can hold on to forever. We will keep these stories in our hearts, always.
