The Director of Biological Park, Itanagar, has issued a circular dated 31st July 2025, directing the immediate removal of domestic Mithun (Bos frontalis) from the park premises. Their presence poses health risks to zoo animals and damages the park's ecosystem and government property. Despite repeated warnings, no action has been taken by Mithun owners. The park authority has now mandated the removal of these animals within 7 days, failing which strict action will be taken, including “shoot at sight” as per zoo regulations. NITI VIHAR POLICE CRACK DUMPER TRUCK THEFT CASE; VEHICLE RECOVERED, TWO ARRESTED

Itanagar, July 30, 2025:

In a commendable breakthrough, Niti Vihar Police have successfully solved a blind dumper truck theft case and recovered the stolen vehicle. Two accused have been arrested in connection with the crime.

The case came to light on July 22, 2025, when Shri Nangram Kali (45), son of Late Nangram Sankio, and Shri Tophik Khan (33), son of Shri Iqbal Khan, both residents of Senki Park near the BSI Office, Itanagar, lodged an FIR at Niti Vihar Police Station. They reported that their dumper truck — a TATA LPK 1618 CRE BS-IV bearing registration number AR-01L-2528 — which had been stationary and unused for a long period near the CRPF Camp at Senki Park, had gone missing. Their personal attempts to trace the vehicle had yielded no results.

The suspected theft occurred sometime between June 10 and July 10, 2025. Accordingly, a case was registered under Niti Vihar PS Case No. 27/25, invoking Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and assigned to Sub-Inspector Tejab Tadar for investigation.

A special investigation team — led by Inspector Takhe Tasso (OC, Niti Vihar PS) and comprising SI Tejab Tadar, ASI D. Gupta, Constables M. Kojing and J. Romin — was constituted under the close supervision of Shri Kengo Dirchi, SDPO, Itanagar.

Through meticulous investigation, the team zeroed in on 5–6 individuals with prior knowledge of the vehicle’s parking location and GPS installation. A key lead emerged during interrogation, leading to the detention of a former employee of the complainants from the Dejoo area in Lakhimpur district, Assam.

Further investigation led to the recovery of the stolen dumper truck from the remote Damin area of Kurung Kumey district, Arunachal Pradesh.

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case:

1. Shri Amjad Ali (27), son of Shri Somor Ali, resident of Silonibari Village, PO/PS Silonibari, District Lakhimpur, Assam.

2. Md. Esamuddin (33), son of Shri Abdul Hamid, resident of Dejoo Village, PO/PS Silonibari, District Lakhimpur, Assam.

The successful resolution of this case highlights the proactive efforts and coordination of the Niti Vihar Police in tackling organized vehicle theft and ensuring public trust.
