Kimin, June 13: A Christian Father was allegedly wrongfully restrained by three men at Tadar Happa village under Kakoi Circle in Papum Pare district on Saturday morning, triggering a swift response from the Kimin Police.
According to information received, the Father was travelling in his Bolero vehicle towards Lower Jumi at around 8:00 AM when three men stopped his vehicle at Tadar Happa. The men reportedly questioned him about his destination and identity. The Father cooperated and produced his identification documents, including his Inner Line Permit (ILP). However, the trio allegedly took control of the vehicle and prevented him from continuing his journey.
As news of the incident spread, local residents informed the police. Acting promptly, the Kimin Police launched a search operation and reached the location within a short period.
Speaking to The ForeFront, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kimin Police Station said that the police received information about the incident at around 8:30 AM. Upon reaching Tadar Happa village, police personnel located the vehicle and found the Father along with one of the accused individuals at the spot.
The vehicle, the Father, and the suspect were brought to Kimin Police Station for further inquiry. Subsequently, the remaining two men allegedly involved in the incident were also taken into police custody.
Police sources informed that the three individuals have admitted to their actions and reportedly stated that they were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
All three accused are currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway
