Doimukh, July 15, 2025:
A comprehensive disaster management mock exercise focusing on a multi-hazard scenario will be conducted on July 16 at the Pare Hydro Power Station in Doimukh, Papum Pare district. In this regard, a joint preparatory meeting was held at the NEEPCO office complex, Doimukh.
The exercise is being jointly organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and Pare Hydro Power Station authorities, in coordination with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and other key stakeholders.
The mock drill will simulate a combined disaster scenario involving a landslide, flash flood, and dam-related emergency, aiming to test and evaluate the preparedness, coordination, and response capabilities of the concerned agencies and the local community.
Representatives from the health department, fire and emergency services, police, power department, PWD, and public health engineering will actively participate in the drill. Rescue and evacuation operations will be conducted in real-time, with demonstrations of first aid and emergency medical responses.
Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner and DDMA Chairperson V. Yadav, who will be supervising the mock exercise, emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination and community awareness in disaster management.
The event marks a significant step toward strengthening disaster resilience in the region, particularly in light of Arunachal Pradeshโs vulnerability to natural hazards such as floods, earthquakes, and landslides.
