Assam Rifles Recovers Large Arms Cache in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang District

MIAO, July 17 – In a significant blow to illegal arms smuggling and insurgent activities in the region, the Assam Rifles, under the command of Spear Corps, successfully recovered a major cache of arms and ammunition during a meticulously planned operation in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district.

Acting on precise intelligence inputs about the presence of hidden arms and war-like stores, the troops launched a high-risk search operation in the general area of MS 38 along the Miao-Vijaynagar axis. The effort involved specialized teams, advanced surveillance equipment, and trained tracker dogs to ensure a thorough and efficient sweep of the area.

The operation resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of weaponry and military-grade supplies. Among the seized items were:

Six rifles, including:

Two M16 rifles

One MA1 rifle

Two AK-series rifles

One locally manufactured 7.62mm rifle

A Lathode launcher

An Under Barrel Gr***de Launcher (UBGL)

Assorted ammunition

Other war-like stores, including magazines, tactical gear, and grenades

Photographs from the scene show a large number of fi****ms, explosive devices, and military equipment laid out, highlighting the scale of the operation and the volume of weapons recovered. Several personnel from the Assam Rifles and local authorities were present to assess and secure the seized materials.

This successful operation underscores the Assam Rifles’ unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in the northeast region. Authorities believe that the seizure will significantly impact the capabilities of insurgent groups operating in the area.

Further investigations are underway to trace the origins and intended use of the recovered arms.
