Local Youths Help Police Nab IRBN Constable in Capital; 48g He**in, Empty Vials and Syringe Recovered From Residence

The Capital Police have arrested a 33-year-old constable of the 4th India Reserve Battalion (IRBN) after seizing 48.06 grams of he**in and drug paraphernalia from his rented house at Daath village in Jully area.

Officials said the accused, a native of Sebing village in Upper Subansiri, was detained by local youths on Wednesday evening after they suspected his involvement in drug use. Police later recovered 34 vials of he**in, empty vials, a lighter and a syringe from his possession.

Capital SP Jummar Basar informed that the constable is a habitual user who had earlier been warned for drug abuse while on duty. He is also suspected of peddling he**in in the area. A case under Sections 21(b) and 27(a) of the NDPS Act has been registered, and departmental action will follow.

Police said investigations are on to identify the source of the contraband.

Naharlagun, August 21, 2025:
A 40-member contingent from Arunachal Pradesh, comprising 28 boys, 12 girls, along with Coach Doni Yangfo and Manager Biplap Devnath, has left for Kurukshetra, Haryana, to participate in the Kai All India Karate Championship 2025, scheduled from August 25 to 27, 2025.

During the flag-off ceremony at Naharlagun, Chief Instructor of Karate-Do, Tai Hipik, motivated the young karatekas, urging them to perform with discipline, determination, and team spirit. He extended his best wishes for their success in the championship. The event was attended by karate officials, who expressed confidence that the Arunachal team will bring laurels to the state.

The Kai All India Karate Championship is expected to witness tough competition, with teams from across the country showcasing their skills.

Career Counselling & Excellence Awards at Palin.

The All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) is set to host its 3rd Career Counselling cm Annual Academic Excellency Achievers Program on 27th August 2025 at Nyokum Hall, Palin. The event, coinciding with the 10th Foundation Day of AKDDSU, will honour the top two meritorious students of Class V, VIII, X, and XII (Science, Commerce & Humanities) for the academic session 2024-2025.

Landslides Sever Road Connectivity in Kra Daadi

KRA DAADI, Aug 18: Road communication between Kembang, Tanio Tab, PadPa and Riambang to the district headquarters has been totally disrupted after heavy landslides struck the Tajgi–Kembang RWD road under Ziro Division. The worst-hit stretch falls under Tarak Lengdi circle, cutting off the area from essential supplies.

Locals, however, have cleared nearly five kilometres of the blocked stretch with their own efforts and are now compelled to walk on foot to meet their daily needs, including medical emergencies and commodities Villagers have urged the authorities to clear the road at the earliest to restore normal connectivity.
