Chairman Samuel Jyrwa Speaks on Illegal Immigration, Border Disputes; Announces UPSC Coaching Scholarships for Two Deserving Aspirants from Each NE State
In an exclusive interview with The Network, North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) Chairman Samuel Jyrwa addressed pressing concerns regarding the influx of illegal immigrants and ongoing border disputes in the Northeast. He emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive policies to safeguard the region’s indigenous communities and maintain territorial integrity.
Meanwhile Mr. Jyrwa reiterated NESO’s long-standing demand for stronger measures to curb illegal immigration, stating that it poses a significant threat to the socio-political fabric of the Northeast. “We urge the central and state governments to implement stringent policies and ensure proper border security to protect the rights of indigenous people,” he asserted.
As part of NESO’s commitment to empowering the youth, Jyrwa announced a new initiative to support UPSC aspirants from the region. The organization will sponsor coaching scholarships for two deserving candidates from each Northeastern state, providing them with financial assistance and mentorship to prepare for the country’s prestigious civil services exams.
“This initiative aims to enhance the representation of Northeast students in India’s civil services and equip them with the necessary resources to compete at the highest level,” Jyrwa stated. He expressed hope that the scholarship program would encourage more students from the region to pursue careers in the administrative sector and contribute to their states’ development.
Further The NESO chairman also highlighted the organization’s continued advocacy for fair opportunities, educational reforms, and safeguarding the rights of indigenous communities in the Northeast.
