Nakar, Papum Pare | July 19: Residents of Nakar village carried out a community social service to temporarily restore a severely damaged stretch of the PWD road connecting Parang Circle to Nakar under Silsango Circle after continuous monsoon rains caused major road deterioration.

The social service was led by the concerned Gaon Bura (GB) of Nakar-ll Nabam Pada and GPM of Nakar- Nabam Taleng with active participation from local villagers. The worst-affected section was reported at Sepa Happa Nakar, where heavy rainfall had badly damaged the road, making it difficult and unsafe for commuters and vehicles.

During the drive, villagers undertook temporary repair works to improve road accessibility and ensure the movement of people and essential services. However, community leaders said the damage is extensive and requires permanent restoration by the concerned authorities.

Speaking on the occasion, the GB and GPM of Nakar-2 appealed to the Public Works Department (PWD) to urgently inspect the affected road and undertake proper maintenance and repair work before the condition worsens further during the ongoing rainy season.

The local community expressed hope that the department will respond promptly to ensure safe and reliable connectivity for residents of Nakar and the surrounding areas.

Itanagar Police Cracks โ‚น13 Lakh Daylight Robbery Case; All Three Accused Arrested
After Three-Week Investigation

Itanagar, 13 July 2026 : Itanagar Police has successfully solved the sensational daylight robbery at Neelam Traders in Gandhi Market, arresting all three accused involved in the crime after a sustained investigation spanning nearly three weeks.

The robbery occurred on 22 June 2026 at around 11:19 a.m., when two individuals entered the shop under the pretext of seeking assistance and viewing CCTV footage related to allegedly lost items. Once inside, one of the accused produced a knife concealed inside a file cover, threatened the cashier, and looted approximately โ‚น13 lakh in cash, while a third accomplice remained outside acting as a lookout. The entire incident was captured on the shop's CCTV cameras.

The investigation initially faced significant challenges due to the lack of concrete leads. Police said the accused had meticulously planned the crime, changing clothes, avoiding CCTV-monitored routes, and concealing their movements. The probe was further complicated as Smart City CCTV cameras along suspected escape routes were non-operational at the time of the incident.

A special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of the SDPO Itanagar and the Officer-in-Charge of Police Station Itanagar. The team comprised *SI Samuel Ngupok, ASI Marli Kamgo, Ct. Punyo Tamar, Ct. Jumli Zirdo, Ct. Shankar Nampe, Ct. Tago Ligu, Ct. Mejir Pale, Ct. Sandeep Yadav, and Ct. Chukey Digle.
Investigators examined more than **500 hours of CCTV footage** collected from private establishments and various locations. The operation was supported by technical analysis, mobile phone tracking, intelligence gathering, witness examinations, and extensive field verification.

The accused were identified as **Prem Rebe, Gungung Tagang, and Yubi Kamchi**. According to investigators, Prem Rebe and Gungung Tagang entered the shop and executed the robbery, while Yubi Kamchi acted as a lookout outside the premises.

Following the crime, the trio fled towards Seppa and frequently shifted locations across **East Kameng district, Assam, and other parts of Arunachal Pradesh** in an attempt to evade arrest. Through sustained surveillance and intelligence-based operations, police traced and apprehended Gungung Tagang and Yubi Kamchi in Seppa with the assistance of Police Station Seppa.

The principal accused, **Prem Rebe**, continued to evade capture by moving between resorts and temporary accommodations while spending portions of the stolen money. After nearly three weeks of intensive pursuit, he was eventually tracked down and arrested in Seppa with the assistance of East Kameng Police.

During the investigation, police discovered that a substantial portion of the stolen cash had been used to purchase a four-wheeler, two-wheelers, mobile phones, and other assets. Several of these items have been traced and recovered, while funds deposited in one accused's bank account have been frozen as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
Capital Police expressed appreciation for the cooperation extended by East Kameng Police, particularly the Officer-in-Charge of Police Station Seppa and Ct. Shankar Taniang, as well as Ct. Sanu Raj of Police Station Naharlagun, for their assistance in the successful operation.

Police officials stated that the case was solved through relentless fieldwork, technical expertise, intelligence-led investigation, and strong inter-district coordination despite the absence of continuous CCTV coverage and deliberate efforts by the accused to conceal their identities and movements.
