PPA Leaders Term Allegations Against Tawang MLA as Politically Motivated

Tawang, Sept 19:
The People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) on Thursday strongly condemned the recent allegations leveled against Tawang MLA Namgey Tsering by Lobsang Gyatso, describing them as politically motivated and defamatory.

Addressing a press briefing, PPA President Phurpa Lama and Spokesperson Urgyen Dorjee expressed concern over the language used by Lobsang Gyatso, who had referred to the MLA with terms such as “Dalal” and “Land Mafia” in connection with the ongoing land allotment process in Tawang district.

The PPA leaders pointed out that while 72 individuals had applied for land allotment, only the MLA and his family were selectively named, which they said reflects a “clear attempt to malign the image of a popular and loved leader of Tawang.”

Clarifying the issue, Phurpa Lama stated that land allotment is not under the jurisdiction of the MLA, but rather the responsibility of the District Administration and the Department of Land Management, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized that dragging the name of an elected representative into the process was misleading and politically motivated.

The leaders further declared that the PPA is prepared to take the matter to court, pursuing legal remedies against those responsible for defaming the MLA.

Appealing to the people of Tawang, the PPA urged the public not to be swayed by such videos or propaganda that could spread hatred and division within society.
