With 56,000 megawatts of hydro potential, Arunachal is rising, not only as the hydro capital of India, but as a beacon of how natural beauty and modern progress can walk hand in hand.

Projects that once sat on paper are now becoming pillars of prosperity:

✅ 600 MW Kameng – Completed
✅ 2,000 MW Subansiri – Nearing commissioning
✅ 2,880 MW Dibang – Set to become India’s largest hydro project
✅ 13 new projects, totaling 15,000 MW, are on the way in the next 3 years

But this isn’t just about power generation. It’s about powering people’s lives.

It means:
✅ ₹4,171 crore worth of free power flowing back to the state
✅ ₹735 crore invested directly into local communities
✅ ₹1,884 crore a year in dividends, strengthening our economy

Some evenings stay with us. And this was one of them.

At the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, readers, scholars, and well-wishers came together for a conversation around “In Between the Blurry Lines: 14 Defining Moments That Shaped Arunachal.”

Written by Shri Sonam Chombay ji, the book brings to life the turning points that shaped the state and, in many ways, shaped India’s frontier.

It reminds us of the incredible resolve shown by the people of Arunachal during the British era, when they held on to their land and their dignity… and again, in 1962, when the Chinese army advanced, but found no welcome. Instead, they found a people whose loyalty to India was never in question.

The presence of General Joginder Jaswant Singh ji, former Chief of Army Staff and former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, added rich perspective, from

Dr. Alok Bansal, Director of India Foundation, moderated the session with insight and balance, guiding the audience through Arunachal’s complex yet inspiring journey.
