Balijan Police Seize Approximately 45 Kg of G***a; Two Arrested from Assam.

Balijan: October 22, 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics trafficking, Balijan Police seized 45 kilograms of g***a (cannabis) from a location near Tubung Bridge under Balijan Circle.During the operation, police apprehended two individuals identified as Sangrang Narzary (32), son of Niren Narzary, a resident of Bonuah village under Helem Police Station in Bishwanath district, and Somdom Brahma (28), son of Lobin Brahma from Majbat village under Udalguri district, Assam.A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, bearing Case No. BJN/PS/C/No.29/25 U/S 20(C), 25 & 29 NDPS Act, 1985. Sources from Balijan Police Station confirmed that further investigation is ongoing to identify and dismantle the wider network involved in the illegal trade.

Officer‑in‑Charge (OC) Nabam had asserted that the Balijan Police Team will not compromise with any drug supplier or anyone involved in narcotics activities around the Balijan region.
