In a tragic sequence of events, Rural Works Department executive engineer Likwang Lowang died by su***de just hours after being named in the su***de note of 19-year-old Gomchu Yekar, who had accused him of sexual exploitation.

Khonsa Police Station officer-in-charge Inspector N. Rango confirmed that Lowang shot himself at his residence in Khonsa. He declined to share more information, citing an ongoing investigation at the scene.

The incident has deepened the shock surrounding Yekar’s death, who was found earlier in the day at his rented room in Lekhi village, near Itanagar.

In multiple notes, Yekar alleged prolonged sexual abuse and threats by Lowang and former ICR Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom.

Authorities are continuing their probe into the connected deaths.
