Rajiv Gandhi University Department of Management Hosts 2nd Alumni Meet and Felicitates Prof. Ranjit Tamuli for 30 Years of Service
Doimukh, July 26, 2025: The Department of Management, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) celebrated its 2nd Alumni Meet on July 26, 2025, organized by the RGU MBA Alumni Association. The programme began with a welcome spech by Dr. Odang Mara, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Rajiv Gandhi University.
This year’s meet held special significance as it also marked the farewell and felicitation of Prof. Ranjit Tamuli, the founding professor of the department, who served with distinction from 1995 to 2025. Prof. Tamuli is a renowned academician, holding a Ph.D. from Gauhati University. Over his illustrious career, he has served as Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, and Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University (2018–2021). With more than 42 research publications, three major research projects, and supervision of 18 Ph.D. scholars, Prof. Tamuli’s contribution to academia has been unparalleled. Sir also served in various capacities such as Head of Department, Controller of Examination and Dean in the institute.
Addressing the gathering, the RGU MBA Alumni Association highlighted the progress of the association, initiatives for management students, and future plans to strengthen alumni engagement. The event also served as a platform to honor Prof. Tamuli’s visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and his role as a mentor and institution builder.
“The department’s journey and achievements are deeply intertwined with Prof. Tamuli’s tireless efforts over three decades. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” said the organizing committee in their address.
The evening concluded with cultural performances, sharing of memories, and a renewed commitment from the alumni to contribute to the growth of the department and the university. The event was a grand success, bringing together former students, faculty, and well-wishers to celebrate the department’s legacy and future
