AEDMA Organises Blood Donation Camp on 13th Foundation Day

The Arunachal Electronic & Digital Media Association (AEDMA) organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp today at the Conference Hall of RKM Hospital, Itanagar, to commemorate its 13th Foundation Day.

Held under the theme “Give Blood, Give Life”, the camp witnessed active participation from members of the media fraternity and the public, promoting the spirit of humanity and social responsibility.

Team Arunbhoomi visited the Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) at Siiro to check whether the sub-centre is functioning properly and to assess the available facilities.

During the visit, the team interacted with the staff present and inspected the infrastructure, availability of medicines, and the cleanliness of the premises. It was noted that the centre is providing basic healthcare services including outpatient consultations, maternal and child healthcare, immunization, and minor treatments.

The team also checked whether essential medicines were in stock and if patient records were maintained properly. The staff informed that they conduct regular antenatal check-ups and immunization camps for the local community. However, there were a few concerns regarding the shortage of certain medicines and the need for additional manpower to handle patient load effectively.

Alleged Drug Offender Arrested Again in Lower Subansiri

Incident Overview

On Tuesday morning, Lower Subansiri police arrested 26-year-old Kago Yapyang, wife of Nali Namet, for alleged he**in peddling near Pai Gate, Hapoli. Acting on a tip-off at around 7 AM, officers—including OC Millo Lalyang and SI J. Yomcha—executed the raid at 9 AM. A team of seven officers, assisted by two Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society members, conducted the operation .

Seized Evidence
A total of 45 vials of suspected he**in and 5 empty vials were recovered, amounting to 61 g of contraband ().

An Established Pattern
Yapyang has a prior drug offense on record. In a previous arrest last year, she and her husband were caught with 10 g of he**in. She was convicted and served three months before being released on bail ().

Law Enforcement Response
Authorities are highlighting this reoffense as indicative of ongoing challenges in disrupting local drug networks. The police have reiterated their commitment to tackling drug trafficking and urged residents to share any intel that could aid in these efforts
