Reri Welfare Society Condemns Alleged Assault on CO Tadang Rai, Urges Public to Respect Legal Process
The Reri Welfare Society has strongly condemned the alleged physical assault on Tadang Rai, Circle Officer (CO), which reportedly occurred on Saturday.
In a statement, the society expressed concern over the incident and emphasized that any form of violence against public servants performing their duties is unacceptable. While condemning the alleged assault, the society urged all concerned individuals, organizations, and political leaders to allow the legal process to take its course.

BJP Arunachal Pradesh Marks World Environment Day with Plantation Drive at Government Secondary School, Chimpu

Itanagar, June 5, 2026: BJP Arunachal Pradesh marked World Environment Day with a grand plantation drive at Government Secondary School, Chimpu, Itanagar, reaffirming its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The programme was led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Chowna Mein, and BJP State Unit President Shri Kaling Moyong, along with party leaders,students, and local residents. Hundreds of saplings were planted during the event to promote a greener and healthier Arunachal Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of protecting nature and encouraged citizens, especially the younger generation, to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts. The All Shi Yomi District RTI Activists Association has urged Puna Hinda Enterprise to immediately install road safety signs, warning boards, and reflectors at accident-prone locations along the NH formation cutting stretch between Pena and Tato.
The association raised serious concerns over the safety of commuters following several recent fatal accidents reported at different locations along the highway construction corridor. It stated that the absence of adequate safety measures, particularly in vulnerable and hazardous stretches, poses a significant risk to motorists and pedestrians.
In a representation submitted to the Puna Hinda Enterprise (contractor)the association emphasized the need for immediate installation of cautionary signboards, reflectors, and other road safety infrastructure to alert commuters, especially during night hours and adverse weather conditions.
Responding to the concerns raised by the association, Puna Hinda Enterprise assured that necessary action would be initiated at the earliest. The company stated that it is committed to ensuring the safety of road users and would take appropriate measures to address the identified hazards along the project stretch.
The association welcomed the assurance and expressed hope that the required safety installations would be completed promptly to prevent further accidents and loss of lives.
