Nasung: A Tale of Resilience Takes Center Stage

The Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2024 witnessed the powerful performance of Nasung, a poignant Hindi play directed by the acclaimed Pabitra Rabha. Based on Dr. Jamuna Bini’s story Baas ka Phool, the play explores the challenges of bamboo flowering and its impact on a village’s ecosystem, capturing the unyielding spirit of humanity through Lalin’s journey.

A collaboration between Roots Art and Cultural Trust and Dapon—The Mirror, the production featured a 60-member cast and crew, blending tradition with artistic innovation. Nasung stands as a testament to theatre’s role in cultural preservation and empowerment.

Seminar Explores Theatre’s Role in the Modern World

– A thought-provoking seminar titled “Theatre in the 21st Century: Traditional Theatre vs Modern Society” was conducted today at the D.K. Convention Centre, attracting theatre enthusiasts and scholars alike.

Led by renowned Polish theatre expert Matej Matejka, the session delved into the evolving dynamics of theatre, exploring its capacity to bridge cultural traditions and modern societal demands. Matejka highlighted how theatre serves as a powerful medium for connecting the past and present, adapting to rapid cultural shifts while maintaining its essence.

The workshop featured renowned Polish artists Dorota Kuźniarska, a celebrated costume designer, and Witold Modrzejewski, a visionary visual artist.
