Two Arrested for Kidnapping and Assault of Consultant in Itanagar
Itanagar Police have arrested two individuals for the kidnapping and assault of a consultant with the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on March 22, when the victim was returning from the Civil Secretariat to his rented residence in A-Sector. He was intercepted near Ziro Point by Biku Shi (30) and Mili Nobin (32), both from Kamle district, along with a woman accomplice.
The accused forcibly abducted the victim, assaulted him, and attempted to extort money after checking his identity and financial documents. Failing to find cash, they took his mobile phone before pushing him out of a moving vehicle near Tigdo check gate.
Following a swift investigation, police arrested the two male suspects and recovered the victim’s phone and documents. The woman has been issued a legal notice. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is ongoing.
Itanagar Police have reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and warned of strict action against those disrupting peace and security.
