Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim surprised guests at the BRICS gala dinner in New Delhi by singing Kishore Kumar's iconic Hindi classic "Khwab Ho Tum Ya
Koi Haqeeqat" from the 1965 film Teen Deviyan. The song was performed during the gala dinner hosted as part of the 18th BRICS Summit.
The light-hearted moment showcased Anwar's long-standing appreciation for Indian cinema and music and added a personal cultural touch to an otherwise formal diplomatic gathering. His affection for Indian music has been noted previously as well, including his interest in the songs of legendary Tamil actor M.G.
Ramachandran.
Beyond the entertainment, the moment highlighted how culture can become a bridge between nations-with Bollywood nostalgia creating an unexpectedly warm India-Malaysia moment on the sidelines of a major geopolitical summit.
