A cadre of the banned militant outfit United
Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) [ULFA (I)] was killed during an armed confrontation with security forces in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district on the night of October 21.

The gun battle broke out near 6 Mile when a team of Assam Rifles personnel intercepted a group of around seven ULFA (1) militants.

The group was allegedly linked to the recent attack on the Kakopathar Army camp in Assam.
During the exchange of fire, one militant - identified as Iwan Axom, also known by the aliases Konti Axom and Abhikeshwar Moran — was killed.

Security forces recovered an HK rifle, a hand gr***de, and a bag from his possession.
The remaining members of the militant group reportedly managed to flee under the cover of darkness. A search operation has been launched to track down the absconding militants.

Authorities have intensified operations in the region, and further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
