we would like to bring to your attention a very serious and distressing matter that is affecting the safety and well-being of our community members, especially our sisters, daughters, and mothers. There have been repeated incidents in Jaigaon where individuals are being subjected to harassment under the guise of so-called "pranks." These actions are not only deeply inappropriate but aslo traumatizing.
It is important to understand that this is not a matter to be taken lightly or dismissed as a harmless joke. These are not pranks тАФ they are acts of harassment that instill fear and insecurity among women and girls. Many now feel unsafe even stepping out alone, and this growing sense of fear is unacceptable in any civil society.
If such behavior is not addressed promptly and effectively, it may escalate into even more serious violations. We urge the concerned authorities and community leaders to take immediate action to investigate these incidents, ensure accountability, and implement measures that guarantee the safety of all individuals in Jaigaon.
