🌿🇧🇹 Bhutanese Forester Honoured with International Ranger Award! 🌿
Jampel Lhendup, a dedicated forester serving at Royal Manas National Park, has made history by becoming the first Bhutanese forester to receive the prestigious International Ranger Award at the IUCN Congress currently being held in Abu Dhabi. 👏
The IUCN WCPA International Ranger Award recognizes the invaluable role of rangers around the world for their courage, commitment, and tireless efforts in safeguarding our planet’s natural heritage and biodiversity.
This year, 13 exceptional rangers from across the globe were honored. The award is a joint initiative by IUCN WCPA, the International Ranger Federation, Re:wild, and the WWF Tigers Alive Initiative, aiming to enhance global recognition, capacity, and support for rangers who protect our environment under challenging conditions.
To celebrate this remarkable achievement, Bhutanese officials attending the IUCN Congress joined Jampel Lhendup during the award ceremony in Abu Dhabi. 🌍💚
✨ Congratulations, Jampel Lhendup! Your dedication and service continue to inspire Bhutan and the global conservation community.
