PATTERN OF WRITTEN TEST:
The Written Test will comprise of -
One Paper : Paper-I only for the Post Code A, B & C and
Two Papers : Paper-I & Paper-II for the Post Code D, E, F, G & H.
The Paper-I is common for all the posts i.e. Management Trainee (General / Depot / Movement
/ Accounts / Technical / Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering).
Candidates applying for any ONE of the Post Code D, E, F, G & H will appear in Paper-I to be
followed by Paper - II.
Paper-I (Duration - 90 minutes):
120 Multiple Choice Questions of General Aptitude consisting of Reasoning, Data Analysis,
Computer Awareness, General Awareness, Management and Current Affairs for the post of
Management Trainees (General / Depot / Movement / Accounts / Technical / Civil Engineering /
Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering); and
Paper-II (Duration - 90 minutes):
i. 120 Multiple Choice Questions on General Accounting and Finance for candidates
applying for Management Trainee (Accounts)
OR
ii. 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Agriculture, Food Science and Technology,
Agricultural Engineering & Bio Technology for candidates applying for Management
Trainee (Technical)
OR
iii. 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical
Engineering for candidates applying for Management Trainee (Civil Engineering /
Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering).
The merit of Written Test, for post code A,B & C will be decided on Paper -I and for post code
D or E or F or G or H the merit will be decided on Paper-I & post specific Paper-II.
The Question Paper for Written Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi.
Visually Handicapped (VH - B, LV) candidates with visual disabilities of 40% or above can avail
the assistance of a Scribe in the Written Test. Question Papers and Answer Sheets will not be
provided in Braille. Scribe shall also be provided to the candidates with Locomotor Impaired
candidates having disability in both hands and arms (OH - BA & BLA). Additional time shall also
be provided to the VH as well as Locomotor Impaired candidates as per extant instructions. The
said assistance shall be provided subject to such request being made in the Application Form.
No attendant of VH/Cerebral Palsy candidates will be allowed inside the examination premises.
Persons with visual Disability of less than forty percent will not be considered as visually
handicapped persons and will not be eligible for assistance of a Scribe.
One eyed candidates and partially blind candidates who are able to read the normal Question
Paper set for all the candidates with or without magnifying glass and who wish to write / indicate
the answer with the help of Magnifying Glass will be allowed to use the Magnifying Glass in the
Examination Hall and will not be entitled to a Scribe. Such candidates will have to bring their
own magnifying glass.

The Gross Salary mentioned above against each post includes Basic Pay, Grade Pay, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Transport Allowance and contribution to New Pension Scheme . In addition to the above Gratuity, LTC, Medical Benefits, Encashment of Leave, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Encashment of Leave, Group Savings Linked Insurance Scheme (GSLI), Children Education Expenses etc. are admissible as per the ICSI Service Rules.

Candidates should have a valid e-mail address and are advised to check their mail regularly for any information regarding test /interview. In case, a candidate does not have a valid personal email address, he/she should create his/her new email address before applying Online. “ICSI” reserves the right to communicate with the applicant through e-mail and not by post.

All candidates are requested to take a printout of their online forms and keep it with them for future reference. However, they are requested not to send the hard copy of their online application Form/ CV’s /Certificates to the Institute. The original documents would be required for verification only at the time of Interview. Candidates may take out the print out in token of acceptance of on-line applications & no separate acknowledgement to the effect would be sent.

The percentage obtained in various degrees/ diplomas should be rounded off to the lower whole number. For eg. 49.3% or 49.8% should be entered as 49% & not as 50%. In case grades are awarded, they should be converted to numerical equivalent percentages.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities / Institutions in India or abroad. The courses offered by autonomous Institutions should be equivalent to the relevant courses approved/ recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/UGC/AICTE.

Mere submission of application / fulfilment of eligibility conditions will not confer any right on the candidate to be shortlisted / called for written test/ interview. The “ICSI” reserves the right to call for written test/ interview only those candidates who in its opinion are most suitable for the post. The “ICSI” also reserves the right to reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason thereof. The decision of The “ICSI” in all matters regarding Eligiblity, shortlisting of candidates, conduct of interview and selection will be final and binding on the applicants and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

The “ICSI” reserves the right to fix minimum eligibility standard/bench mark and restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview taking into account various factors like number of vacancies, performance of the candidates etc., and decide to determine the qualifying marks for selecting candidates for interview. The “ICSI” also reserves the right to raise the eligibility criteria to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test/ interview. The decision of the “ICSI” in this regard shall be final and binding and no correspondence in this regard would be entertained with the candidates.

The “ICSI” reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies for any post, as advertised as per its requirement or even cancel the whole process of recruitment without assigning any reason.

6 The “ICSI” also reserves the right to alter / modify / relax any of the aforesaid eligibility criteria / conditions for deserving candidates.

7 The “ICSI” reserves the right to offer or appoint the candidate on the post/grade lower than the post / grade advertised or applied by the candidate.

8 The candidates cannot have any right or preference for posting in any particular State/ city of his choice as the selection and posting is on All India basis. The Institute’s decision would be final in all these cases and the candidates are liable to be posted or transferred anywhere in India.

9 Proficiency in Computer Applications is essential for all the above post(s).

For attending the interview to & fro train fare will be reimbursed by the shortest route to the outstation candidates, as per rules of the “ICSI”. However no Travel Allowance shall be reimbursed for attending the written test.
